The one solid understanding to true friendship is having a mind set to a lasting friendship where there should be no set boundaries, barriers and rules. These are the things we should note when wanting to commit ourselves with people we want to have around us as friends. And true friends being that of those who cherish and value each other. Those who share their good days and their bad days together, disagree and at the same time agree.

For any friendship to be seen as one that is true, respect and understanding should be a key 🔑 since we come across many kinds of people with different opinions and different lifestyle. And for us to go out of our way to be friends with people, we need to understand them even though they might not be in the same wave length with us at different intervals especially in beliefs, perspectives, because as humans we came from different backgrounds and must not have everything in common.

Friendship is one thing that is very demanding because we can never be a one man Island 🏝. This means that in life we need people and people needs us. But the complexity in friendship is how sometimes we meet people we are not compatible with, people whose lifestyle is different from our and who we must accept the way they are. These ones are those who also see us for who we are because we are not also perfect 👍. These are why there should not be set boundaries in friendship. Its only in our hands to choose who to be in true friendship with.

In all my life from the age of youth and up until now, I have had different kinds of friendship where I have learned from people and have also gained from people. I could also say that many of my good friends have also learned and gained from me. So its not a matter of having the same belief to life or one accord, but what values do you share among yourselves.

One thing with me in choosing friends is always taking my time to study people before becoming close to them but many are not like that. I have a friend who is very open to life that she can share her secrets with anyone. So I will always caution her on how she should have sone details she keep to herself as secrets, but that is not her lifestyle. She believes that when people hears your story, they either learn or tell others who will choose to learn. This lifestyle has never made me not consider her as a true friend because we have been friends for over 13 years now. We are almost like sisters 👯‍♀️. This lifestyle has also shown me that people want to learn from those around them.

So we should see friendship as not being compatible with others, but a bond for togetherness and learning. Respecting each others views, opinions and perspectives for a lasting togetherness just like we see in marriage. Although sometimes, we might be caught up in a friendship where we can not tolerate nor deal with the other person’s lifestyle. Its a personal choice we have to make, whether to stay or if we want to leave. But in most cases, for a lasting friendship, we have to see others for who they are and what they believe.
