playing with "Darktable "

Since i got a new camera and the new raw files are not supported by my OLD classic lightroom software , i had to look for new options .

First option is always upgrade excisting software , but Adobe requires a monthly fee these days so Fuck that .

Second option was the software deliverd by Sony the camera manufacturer , it's called "Imaging Edge Desktop" I'm not a developer but who ever made that software , should be ashamed very user unfriendly , and also pushing people in to using cloud servers yeah like that is safe these days .. NOT .

As soon as they stop making profit they will close the cloud server and you are screwed again . No thanks I'll use my own NAS instead with an offside backup with family .

So what then to use .... well how about something that is for free and open source ?

So today i went through some RAW files and started playing with the darktable settings , looked at a view videos to find certain options i was looking for and voila , i have a new friend called darktable .

Since i was looking mostly for a program to convert my RAW to monochrome , here are some examples .
I really liked the option Extreme Local Contrast , it gave the photo some kind of HDR effect , then use the option monochrome and your done maybe crop and straighten here and there but that is it .

i have posted simular photos earlier this week but not the same , i always take multiple shots to convert one to b/w if needed .

and before I forget it : This is my entry for the #monomad challenge

Your photos are great, and they are precisely what I imagined with the image: a frozen moment in time.

The number 6 caught my attention. The clouds spread across the sky and reflected perfectly on the water’s surface. The scene felt calm and a little mysterious.
