Friday night picking up the wife again
Good morning ,
Friday night when i picked up the wife from work i went a bit early to see if i could capture some of the village sceneries in the dark .
All images are created with the Sony A7II + Laowa ff 15mm F4.5 Macro 0.5 + my Benro tripod and Benro ballhead + MIOPS smart trigger to avoid any vibration during the long shutter speed.
This is my 2nd time playing with long shutterspeeds in the dark
1 ) The Sint-Jozef church in Achterveld , last time i made a post of the garden almost 3 weeks ago you can dind that post here : https://ecency.com/hive-155530/@stresskiller/a-walk-in-the-curch
2 ) In front of the church there is a memorial for people that died during German occupation in WWII. you can find the info here : https://www.4en5mei.nl/oorlogsmonumenten/zoeken/89/achterveld-monument-bij-de-sint-jozefkerk it's in Dutch but with google translate you can probably translate it to your own language.
3 ) The Sint Jozef Church with the clock tower i was standing on the sidewalk right about here : https://maps.app.goo.gl/7tt4Qn4SEQAAFbpn8 , most parts of my country is digitized by googlemaps .
4 ) downside of long shutterspeed ... traffic , you don't see the car but you see the trace of it's head and tail light in here.
5 ) Great let's try that shot again without traffic and shorter shutter speed
6 ) ok let's see how the church will do with less shutterspeed,
7 ) and if we ait 2 seconds longer
8 ) and if we add another 2 seconds , you can see the skyline on the left of the church tower get brighter.
9 ) back to the community building across the street "ons gebouw " Our Building . i was afraid it would be overexposed because the light would reflect on the white building but it turns out the light pole to my right gave more light in the end.
10 ) Back to the entrance path of the Sint Jozef church again , looks like the 8 seconds for now are enough to capture what i want.
11 ) move a bit closer also seems to help with the light
12 ) Back to the car waiting for the wife to be ready with work , so we can go home again .
Looking back at the results , i'm looking forward to the wintermonths when it get's darker a lot earlier , giving me more time to play with these things.
Tomorrow i will try to get a new camera to the collection the Sony A7IV ... not sure yet if i should wait for the SonyA7V or not it's a lot of money for a hobby .
That is all for today .
Impressive night shots! The clarity and mood you captured with long exposures are just stunning—really brings the village to life after dark. 👏📸
Thank you very much for your kind words .
Night photography is a kind of play with lights and I really love it. Beautiful shots.

I wonder if people spot you, they would wonder who this creep is taking photos in the dark
there was one woman with a barking cat [ very small dog ] , saying that here dog didn't trust me ... 😂 i told her the dog needs to grow up before my cat will chase him away . Some how she didn't like that 😜
Hello, happy afternoon.
The experiment you did with the speed of obtaining is very good.
I really liked the images and with them I learned how certain differences are seen in the appreciation for the speed of obtaining.

8 seconds seems to be the magic number. Nice shots
Nice shots, always amazing what can be captured when the shutter is held open just a little longer than usual.
