Another day in the hospital

I went early this morning with my wife to the hospital for her cataract surgery .
She got cateract as a result of her diabetic .

We arrived as requested at 9:00 Am and had to wait until 10:30 AM before she got operated, those things happen when there are emergencies.

It looked nicely decorated for Christmas

we had to go down there in to the basement.

We arrived as requested at 9:00 Am and had to wait until 10:30 AM before she got operated, those things happen when there are emergencies.

I did remember the doctor saying that it would take normaly between 60 - 90 minutes . . . i had to wait 270 minutes before they let her go again .
Aparently there was a lot of cleaning up to do from an old infection that she had last year in her eyes.

At the restrooms i discowerv a wall paper from the city Utrecht with the old Dom Tower with a christmas tree infront of it , hard to tell that it is inside a building and not on the streets this way.

When we finally got home we both had grown an apetite for food so i orderd something online , since we both were tired. Salad for the wife , i ain't no 🐰

Some french fries / friet / patat / chips

Chicken döner for the wife

And some Shoarma for myself

We finished just in time for me to join the weekly PYPT show.

What is the PYPT show? It's a show hosted on discord by @shadowspub

you can read more about it here : https://ecency.com/hive-125125/@shadowspub/lets-check-who-shared-at-pypt-on-dec-4th

Tomorrow we head back to the hospital for a check to see if all is alright , standard procedure then somewhere in Januari she will get the same surgery on her other eye , and hopefully after that she will be visual able to drive the car safely again without me being the chauffeur.

That is all for today all images created with my Sony mobile phone

I hope that the cataract surgery on your wife's eye will be successful Mick. I also had one removed and now my eye is clear again. I still have to go for the other eye, but it is too expensive.

that is the bennefit of this country you only pay own risk +/- 350 euro each year , and that she had already spend in Januari so all the other medical things are for the insurance.

That's great and we have nothing like that over here. We have a medical aid, but it is usually finished halfway through the year, and the rest of the year must come out of our pockets.

I hope the operation was successful. It's pretty standard here, especially in older people. My mother and late father had this operation, and given that, it will probably be my turn in a few years.

Sounds like a busy day for you and your wife! She will see such brighter colors and crisper vision with the cataract surgery done. I am hoping the doctors stressed the need for wearing glasses outdoors with UV protection as the aphakic lens usually has none which allows harmful UV to the retina. I see patients all the time at the eye clinic I work at who are unaware of this.

Hoping for a quick recovery for her. Enjoy your day! !LADY

Hello!

I'm so glad she finally had the surgery!

I hope her doctor's appointment today confirms that everything went successfully. Now all that's left is to rest diligently, keep her head up, avoid lifting heavy objects, and time will do its work so she can have her second surgery in January.

Hugs to you both!
