Good things don't come easy !

Life is a continuous journey of learning, with new situations and challenges constantly emerging, ensuring that the learning process never truly ends. Life is often called "a great teacher" because it provides experiences, both positive and negative, that lead to valuable lessons and personal growth. This process of learning from life's journey shapes our character, resilience, and understanding of the world. School are considered to be the building blocks in child's growth. It play a vital role in the lives of children, providing them not only with knowledge and skills but also helping them to become responsible and independent individuals. But the real life situations force us to apply knowledge and skills in real-world contexts, revealing what works and what doesn't.

I have a bitter experience where my school education fails at my first job. A fresher, full of confidence of having a degree and sound understanding of the subject, but when it comes to its application in the real work scenario, I was completely clueless. It was like walking into a dark lane with no where to go, but gradually I learned to survive and adapt in the condition with day by day experience gained at the office.

Formal education and life lessons, while both forms of learning, differ significantly in their structure, content, and acquisition. Life lessons are always considered invaluable. Here is the key points which explains, how a formal education differs from real life lessons.

  • Formal education aims to impart specific knowledge and skills, while life lessons aim to equip individuals with the tools to navigate life's challenges and achieve personal growth.

  • Formal education is acquired through instruction and practice, while life lessons are primarily gained through experience.

  • Formal education often involves standardized tests and grades, while life lessons are typically assessed through personal reflection and practical application.

  • Formal education focuses on specific subjects, while life lessons encompass a broader range of skills and knowledge relevant to personal and social development.

Life lessons are learned through direct experience, allowing for a deeper understanding of how knowledge is applied in real-world situations. For example :

understanding the nuances of communication can be better achieved through interpersonal interactions than through a textbook.

In my life so far there were many learning in different fields that shaped my personality. There were many social, personal, economical experiences that helps me to grow as an individual. One of the important lessons that really shaped me is :

"Good things don't come easy".

Good things often require sustained effort, overcoming setbacks, and developing skills through practice. This process of working towards a goal, even when faced with difficulties, strengthens our resolve and builds character.

In the fast paced competitive world, people often chooses various shortcuts to achieve success. Very few are ready to work hard to achieve success in their life. This particular lessons I learned during my working days. My colleagues were always in lookout to outsmart others in process they do many things to please the seniors and get rewards. But I remain focus on my works and completing them on time with much accuracy. After some tough time dealing with office politics and my continuous dedication towards works, my management took notice of me and promoted me irrespective of the facts that the colleagues were busy in pleasing their seniors through bootlicking.

The journey to achieving something worthwhile can be long and challenging. This teaches us the importance of patience, resilience, and the ability to keep going even when faced with adversity. The challenges encountered while pursuing a goal contribute to my personal growth and development. I learn from my mistakes, adapt to changing circumstances, and build confidence in my ability to overcome future obstacles. When we achieve something with relative ease, we may not fully appreciate its value or significance. Conversely, when we overcome obstacles to reach a goal, the sense of accomplishment and the value we place on that achievement are significantly higher.

In good faith - Peace!!

If I had to guess probably about 10% of what I learned in university actually applied to my job. Everything else is what I learned from experience and actually doing the job. It's sad that so many places require a degree when so little of it is actually used.
