Why I Have Not Been Consistent on Hive

It’s been a while since I showed up here and honestly, it has not been easy for me these past few days. I felt like I should share what really happened so you all don’t think I just disappeared without a reason.

So, I am still a newbie here on Hive and was actually trying to be consistent, posting and engaging because I have really come to love this platform and the community around it. But something happened that really affected me, and to be honest, I am still shocked as I write this.

You might not believe it but my phone got stolen in church. Yes, I mean inside the church during service. It still feels unreal because we always think the house of God is the safest place, right? Well, that’s what I thought too until last week. My junior sister’s phone was also taken the same day. Two phones gone just like that.

I can’t lie, I felt so down that day because my phone was everything for me, my way of connecting to Hive, my small online hustle, and even how I read and learn. For my sister too, it was hard because that was her only device for school work. We didn’t even realize it immediately. It was when the service was almost over that we checked our bags and the phones were nowhere to be found.

I know some people will say maybe we were careless, but trust me, we were not. We kept our bags close, but somehow the person still managed to take the phones. Honestly, it’s sad that things like this happen even in places where you expect people to be truthful and honest.

After that day, I have just been trying to figure out how to move forward. I managed to get a small phone from a nearby store but it’s not really strong. The battery runs down fast and the space is so small that I can’t even install many apps. But at least, it is something I can use for now. The only issue is, I might not be online as much as before because using this phone is really stressful.

I just wanted to come here and let you all know why I have not been posting or engaging like before. Hive means a lot to me and I don’t want to disappear when I am just starting. Hopefully, things will get better soon and I will be able to get a better phone so I can come back fully active.

If you have ever experienced something like this, you probably know how it feels. It’s not just about losing the phone, but also losing access to so many things at once. Anyway, I am just trying to stay positive and keep moving forward.
