Post 2: How to Create Your First eBay.ca Listing

Create your listing (Step 1)

Go to eBay.ca and click the Create listing button at the top. When the options pop up, you’ll see Single listing or Multiple listing. For this walkthrough, we’ll choose Single listing.

Once the form opens, this is where you build your entire listing. Take your time and work through each section carefully — a calm, step-by-step approach not only prevents mistakes but also makes your listing look professional to buyers. Here’s how I would do it with a real example:

1. Title

Your title is what buyers search for, so it needs to be clear and keyword-rich.
Example Title:
Deluxe Rummoli Game – Bilingual – Canada Games 1995 – Complete with Box

This title includes the brand (Canada Games), the product (Deluxe Rummoli), the year (1995), and condition detail (Complete with Box). These are the exact details collectors and buyers are searching for.

2. Photos

Photos sell your item. For this Rummoli game, I’d take:

  • A clear photo of the front of the box
  • A shot of the back of the box (if it has info/designs)
  • A photo of the contents laid out (board, pieces, instructions)
  • Close-ups of the Canada Games logo, bilingual markings, or any unique features
  • A photo of any wear or flaws (like box corner dents or fading)

3. Description

Here’s how I’d write it:

“This is the Deluxe Rummoli Game, released by Canada Games in 1995. It’s the bilingual edition and comes complete with the original box, board, playing chips, and instructions.

The box shows light shelf wear (see photos), but the contents are in very good condition. Everything is clean, counted, and ready to play.

✔ Brand: Canada Games
✔ Year: 1995
✔ Edition: Deluxe Rummoli – Bilingual
✔ Condition: Complete, Very Good, Box has light wear
✔ Includes: Board, playing chips, instructions, and original packaging”

We also included a full store policy with each listing explaining the duties, fees, shipping and handling time,

4. Price

After checking sold listings, most Deluxe Rummoli games from this year sell for around $25–$30 CAD.

Example Pricing:

  • List at $29.99 CAD
  • Enable Best Offer so buyers can negotiate

This way, you leave room for offers while still staying competitive with similar sold items.

5. Shipping

For a board game like this, shipping is straightforward.

  • Weight: ~1–1.5kg packaged
  • Use a sturdy cardboard box with bubble wrap to protect the game
  • Offer Tracked Shipping within Canada
  • Consider adding Expedited shipping for buyers who want it faster

Example: Flat Rate Shipping – $12.99 CAD in Canada, With Canada being a large county it is harder it offer flat rate shipping as rural parts can be expansive so we offer calculated on most of our items. We will do another post on shipping policies.

Pro Tip: Have your photos and measurements ready before starting your listing. It makes the process quicker and ensures your listing looks professional.
