How I Started My eBay.ca Journey – And You Can Too
I still remember the first time I logged onto eBay.ca. I had a bunch of stuff lying around the house that I didn’t use anymore and thought, “Why not try selling this?” Honestly, I had no idea where to start.
Fast forward five years, and our little eBay store has grown into a full-fledged, full-time business. If I can do it, so can you. Here’s exactly how I got my account up and running:
Step 1: Go to eBay.ca
Hit Register at the top left corner. It’s really that simple to get started.
Step 1: Register on eBay.ca
Step 2: Decide on your account type
I chose a personal account because I was just selling a few household items. If you’re just testing the waters, I’d recommend starting here too. You can always upgrade to a business account later if needed.
💡 Tip: You can still open an eBay store with a personal account once you hit 250 listings—it helps save on fees.
Step 2: Choose account type
Step 3: Fill in your info
Enter your name, email, and password. I like using a password manager like LastPass to generate something random and safe, but you can just use your Gmail account if that’s easier. Keep it simple and secure.
Step 3: Fill in your info
Step 4: Verify your account
Check your email for a confirmation link and click it. Boom—you’re officially in!
Step 5: Link a payment method
I linked my bank account. It’s simple, safe, and avoids extra fees like PayPal sometimes has. Plus, you can choose daily, weekly, or monthly payouts depending on how you want your cash flowing.
Step 5: Link bank account
💡 Pro Tip: Think about your username. Something professional and trustworthy goes a long way—buyers are more likely to click “buy” if your account feels real.
Your Oldest Sold listings
When I first started, I sold items lying around the house. Here’s an example of my My oldest listing 2 Years Ago, Hard to come by the first listings due to them archiving them
And here’s one of my early payouts—seeing this hit my bank account was so motivating!
Starting out, I sold random stuff from around my house. Now, it’s grown into a full-fledged, full-time business. It’s amazing what a few small steps can lead to over time.
