“Well hello there, how are you girl!”😊
Look closely at the first photo in today’s post……………
Do you see her, just between those two tall Douglas Fir trees?☺️
The rain finally stopped mid morning, and Silvertop was having “Hiking Withdrawals” Lol!🤣
I grabbed my backpack and headed up our old logging road, with PEPE “Riding Shotgun” hanging out of the top zippered pocket!🐸
“Shhhh………..”Be Very, Very Quiet” my green friend, SOMETHING is in the trees up ahead!😳
I really expected this young Deer to spring to her feet, and run for the safety of the Forest, but she just watched me as I approached!😊
“Dis just a Deer Silbertop, we burning daylight!”🐸
“PEPE, you need to relax my friend! Hiking is an experience, you don’t need to rush to the top of the Mountain, to enjoy the hike!”😇
Almost every Spring, young Mother Deer bring their baby or baby’s to the safety of Silvertop’s five acres of forest to raise in the Spring!☺️
Liz and I think they feel safe, and this process repeats almost every year!
Silvertop would like to think that this might be one of “Our Deer”!😇
With PEPE’s insistence, I snapped a few photos and we continued our hike up to the “High Trail”😅
I made it to the open meadow just before the Trailhead and my iPhone started ringing………………….
“Hello “Top” how are you?”🤗
It was my childhood friend “John” calling from Cincinnati!😊
John, his brother Mike, and Silvertop grew up as kids, and lifelong friends, and I call Mike every year on his birthday July 3rd🎂
In 2021 Mike passed ……… he was way too young!🙄
I still make a point to call his brother “John” on Mikes birthday just to shoot the breeze!
We talked for two and one half hours, as Silvertop stood in this meadow today!😇

Another call was coming in, it was Liz!
“Where are you Silvertop, I just got home from work!”🥰
I let the Mrs know I was carrying on a conversation with John, and that I would be heading home shortly…………..
“It was so good taking to you John, we need to talk more often than once a year on Mikes Birthday!”😇
“Liz I will be right home!”😍
You see my friends, hiking IS an experience, you don’t need to rush to the top of the Mountain to enjoy!🤗
