In school, we were taught to reason, analyses and to ensure that there is a reason for every natural signs we see and decisions we take. Like why is there day and night. Why do see lightning first before hearing the roar.

But in the workplace, this may not always hold true as leaders especially those unreasonable ones love to do things that makes no sense at all, and often other than no sense, it acts in conflict with other decisions, and since they are no the one executing, they work by mouth thus they do not see any problem.

Let me share an experience, in a production company, whenever workers try to make an improvement changes to make the existing product better, they would need to collect a lot of data and metrics along the production line to do studies and data checks to ensure all is healthy but these data collection action will delay the production timeline and might impact commitment to customers, thus these data collection are deem unnecessary and should be skip altogether.

When the time come to evaluate the performance of the improvement, worker cannot decide as all the data needed to aid a sound and confident decision is missing due to being skipped and as such the worker is being force to make a decision based on his judgement by looking into the sky.

Isn't this a senseless decision?
