Credibility is a value I personally think that is very important and one that I hold dear to my heart.
At the same time, credibility is an intangible asset that is hard to build and earn but extremely easy to lose. One may need years of consistent result to demonstrate his/her credibility but all it take is one incident or worse, one remark and all is gone overnight.

While everyone needs credibility to his / her name so as to earn the trust of someone else to entrust you with task or information. But this is more important if you are in a leadership position. Your reports look up to you for direction and information. If you are of the group that loosely translate to "unstable when speaking softly, inaccurate when speaking loudly" then very soon you will realize your report would no longer trust the information you have relayed to them and likewise they will never want to relay true / accurate information to you as to them you have no credibility and no someone they can entrust anything with.
