[EN/PT-BR] Mental and physical health require balance between them, the challenge is discipline to do this.

Some people try to choose between mental health and physical health in a single-choice process, focusing on improving one to the detriment of the other. It's not entirely simple to have high levels of both qualities; it's complicated. I even think I've been focusing more on mental health than physical health, whether out of laziness, fatigue, or lack of time. I always have an excuse not to do anything with my body to move it, so my focus is almost exclusively on mental health.

I know this isn't right, but keeping both in good shape takes some effort and time. Exercise, eat well, avoid excess fried foods, sugar, fats, and unhealthy foods in general. We always have a guideline for keeping our bodies and minds healthy: rest, don't take things too seriously, talk, let out what's bothering us, go to bed early—everything we do is a kind of complement to one another. I say it again and again, it's not easy, but it's necessary, and we won't always have the strength to achieve it.

In my case, what I think about balance is precisely this: defining the points, perhaps writing them down somewhere, having a list to follow of things we can do to take care of our body and mind. In this case, since I work Monday through Friday during business hours, the evenings are what I have left to try to do something (which, of course, I don't do), although I still plan on trying to take at least one evening walk, especially since I don't really like the gym; I don't think I feel very comfortable with people staring at me.

Now, of course, the only way to truly balance everything is to have a lot of discipline; I think that's the key word. Discipline is having the power of choice, whether it's choosing between right and wrong, and knowing you have to choose right. It's like earning a lot of money and, instead of just spending it all and running out, you know you need to have the discipline to separate that money into different parts and goals, thinking about your future, thinking about the present, about an emergency fund, those kinds of things. So, in pursuit of perfect health, we need to have discipline with our schedules and actions.

This discipline is like, are you hungry? Instead of buying three pieces of something to eat, buy only one. Eating little, eating well, knowing how to control the cravings we're used to. This reminds me a lot, talking about the gyms I don't like, discipline for me is like, it's cloudy or rainy, but you want to improve, you don't want to miss a day of training, so even though your body and mind want to choose to stay in bed, you need to get up and pursue your goal. I imagine having this discipline, focus, and willpower is key to being able to balance everything.

Unfortunately, it's not easy. I'd like to have a more beautiful body, perhaps more defined, and although I don't care much about beauty, sometimes I wonder what it would be like if I could actually achieve this physical health for myself, be at the right weight for my height, lose my belly fat—what would that be like? Well, it's something I may never discover, but I'm thinking, even for health reasons, about starting my journey. I think this first step is the hardest, but after that, things will fall into place.

Algumas pessoas tentam escolher entre ter saúde mental ou saúde física, em um processo de escolha única, sendo assim, focam em melhorar uma em prol de denigrir a outra. Não que seja totalmente simples ter as 2 qualidades em níveis altos, isso é complicado, inclusive acho que tenho focado mais na saúde mental do que na física, seja por preguiça, cansaço ou falta de tempo mesmo, sempre tenho uma desculpa para não fazer nada com o meu corpo para movimentá-lo, então o meu foco é quase exclusivo somente em saúde mental.

Sei que isso não é correto, mas para manter ambas em bom estado, isso leva um certo esforço e tempo. Exercitar-se, alimentar-se bem, evitar excessos de frituras, açúcar, gorduras, comidas que não sejam saudáveis, em geral. Sempre temos uma cartilha do que fazer para manter o nosso corpo bem, assim como a cabeça: descansar, não levar as coisas tão a sério, conversar, por para fora o que nos incomoda, dormir cedo, tudo o que fazemos é meio que uma complementação de uma com a outra. Digo e repito, não é fácil, mas é preciso e nem sempre vamos ter forças para conseguir fazer isso.

No meu caso, o que penso sobre o equilíbrio é justamente isso, definir os pontos, talvez escrever em algum lugar, ter uma lista para seguir sobre coisas que podemos fazer para cuidar do nosso corpo e mente. No caso, como trabalho de segunda a sexta em horário comercial, a parte da noite é o que sobra para tentar fazer algo (que, claro, não faço), apesar de que ainda tenho em mente tentar fazer pelo menos uma caminhada noturna, até porque não gosto muito de academia, acho que não me sinto muito bem com as pessoas me olhando.

Agora, claro que a única forma de conseguir realmente equilibrar tudo é tendo bastante disciplina, acho que essa é a palavra-chave. Disciplina é você ter o poder da escolha, seja escolher entre o certo e errado e você saber que tem que escolher o certo. É como ganhar bastante dinheiro e, no lugar de somente gastar tudo e ficar sem, você sabe que precisa ter a disciplina de separar em partes e objetivos diferentes para este dinheiro, pensando no seu futuro, pensando no agora, em uma reserva de emergência, essas coisas. Então, em busca da saúde perfeita, precisamos ter disciplina com horários e atitudes.

Essa disciplina é tipo, você está com fome? No lugar de comprar 3 peças de algo para comer, compre somente 1. Comer pouco, comer bem, saber segurar a vontade à qual estamos acostumados. Isso me lembra muito, comentando sobre as academias de que não gosto, disciplina para mim é tipo, o dia ta nublado ou chuvoso, mas você quer melhorar, você não quer perder um dia de treino, então por mais que o corpo e a mente queira escolher ficar na cama, você precisa se levantar e correr atrás do seu objetivo. Imagino que ter essa disciplina, foco e força de vontade seja o principal para conseguir equilibrar tudo.

Infelizmente, não é fácil. Eu gostaria de ter um corpo mais bonito, mais definido talvez, e apesar de não me importar muito com essas coisas de beleza, às vezes penso em como seria se eu realmente conseguisse buscar essa saúde física para mim, de ter o peso certo para a minha altura, perder a barriga, como seria isso? Bem, é algo que talvez eu nunca descubra, mas estou pensando até mesmo por questão de saúde mesmo, começar a minha caminhada, acho que esse primeiro passo é o mais difícil, depois disso, as coisas se encaminham.

Discipline is a very good idea in striking the balance between physical and mental health, it serve as a guide in knowing what you should do and don't.
