I am not your maid. This statement profoundly impacts the lives of our girls, primarily because we women are often defeated by the bondage of life. So today, I am sharing another beautiful story with you, and I hope you will like it very much.

Once upon a time, there was a girl named Maya in a village who had self-respect as steadfast as a mountain. She worked as a bookkeeper at the house of a zamindar (landlord). The zamindar was a bit arrogant; he believed that everything could be bought with money. One day, for a minor mistake, the zamindar sternly said to Maya in front of everyone, "You are fed by my means; obeying my orders is your only duty."

Maya looked at the zamindar with calm eyes. There was no anger in her voice, but there was a strange firmness. She walked slowly in front of the zamindar and said clearly, "I receive payment for my work, I respect your talents, but remember—I am not your maid."

The entire court fell silent. Maya placed her work notebook on the table and walked out with her head held high. That day, she might have had little money in her pocket, but her heart was filled with indomitable freedom.

Later, Maya established a small school through her efforts and began teaching the village girls that respect and servitude are not the same thing. That one statement from Maya changed the perspective of the entire village. Maya proved that losing self-respect means losing one’s existence.

Therefore, I believe that at every stage in life, our girls should choose self-respect and stand on their own feet so that society cannot trample them.
