We had cat and dog when I was a child and both were fun to have around. One moment, both pet would behave as friends; the next moment, you will hear the dog making distress sound, after being "slapped" by the cat. As a kid, I couldn't understand how the cat, as small as it was, would always bully the dog. As an adult, I own a dog and we are close pals

It’s funny how cats, even being smaller, often end up acting like they are in charge of the whole house 😄. Your story made me smile because I think many of us have seen that kind of relationship between cats and dogs.
I also really like what you said about how our relationship with pets changes over time and becomes deeper. Sometimes they truly become important companions in adult life.
