Change

Change. That's the topic today, alas it's one I've thought of numerous times.
Something that every one tries to do, something that some people end up not being able to do, yet it's something we all end up doing one way or the other.

This thought came to my mind after reading @macchiata post earlier today, and a few other off hive conversations/arguments/crashouts.
Change happens. Changing of views, changing of faith, changing of lifestyles, changing of ways.

These three songs are songs that talk about change, I like to view them as three steps of change.
One is looking for change, one is hungry for it, one is coming to understand it.
Each artist with their own different reasons, each with their change being about different things, yet each with the same goal.

This is a song I've listened to numerous times, shared before, but truly truly understood this time.
The idea of change being your last escape, your one escape. Despite the obstacles, despite the pain, despite the fear, we searching for change.

- Change ~ J.Cole

Now the change isn't for us, but to another person. We've watched how he lived and dies and wonders about his choices in life. How he could have done things different, how he could have changed. Truly changed, if he willed it from inside.
This change isn't just inside us, together we can change the community. That's how powerful change is, and why we must do it.

- Understand ~ Shawn Mendes

Most folks won't understand _{(pardon the pun, I just had to :) )}
This is a more subtle song than the previous two, for one it isn't even a rap song. It's more like a coming to terms with your own change.
Noticing how different you are from the you of last year or last two years ago.
Trying to understand that changing isn't a bad thing, it never is.

These aren't necessarily the correct summaries of these songs, just what I felt about them at this current time.
