That was a very well-told story! But kinda sad, but not everything can have a completely happy ending, can it?
I still have all my troll dolls. I played with them for hours as a child.

After I published the story, I thought I should have ended it with, weeks later, she was walking the shoreline, and something caught her eye. It was the back of the troll, crabs had eaten away everything except what her Dad wrote, I will always be here for you.
I wish I still had my trolls.
I think your ending was just fine.
