This is one of the games that kind of blew me away and will always stick with me. First time I played it was on my ipad while on a 12-hour drive. It really captured me but I was confused by getting an ending that wasn't really that satisfying. I found it weird having to go back and play part of it again so I let it rest for many years while it continued to be on my mind. Ony years later I actually played it again from the start on my PS4. Got a different ending but it still wasn't the right one. So I ended up watching 5+ hours on youtube to actually get the good ending which was really satisfying.
I kind of wanted to play the 2nd game but the time investment is just too big. This story would be perfect in anime tv-series form also because I never really enjoyed the puzzels that much. The story is really where this game shines the most and it also was my first exposure to anime.
Great to see it reviewed here on Hive!
I agree with you about the time investment, but if it's as good as the first one, I think it'll be worth it!
As for the story being perfect for an anime, I think part of what makes it work is it being a game with multiple endings.
