🎮 2026 Video Game #3 | Ball x Pitt

Choosing A New Game!!
I literally have 100+ games that I potentially want to play on my Steam Watchlist and quite a bit more ready to start which should make it easy to pick. However, I want to get the most out of the games that I play and I really enjoy gaming the most when I'm fully into it which for most games just takes a ton of time. Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom is one of those that I really want to play but where I fear it will control my life. Outer Wilds is also one of them. So I often end up picking games that I know can be played in small bursts like Balatro & Slay The Spire who eventually also end up controlling my life as I always want to play one more game. The one that kind of trapped me this time was Ball x Pit...
Ball x Pitt (7.9/10)
The way I would describe Ball x Pitt is as a combination of those fake Mobile Game Advertisements which look really fun, with the dynamics of Vamipire Survivors and the Arkanoid retro game.

The basic Gameplay Loop of Ball x Pitt is that you control a character that shoot balls into a pit where hordes of enemies come at you along with 3 bosses each level. Each enemy that is killed drops some gems and once you picked up a certain amount of gems, you can buy upgrades like special balls or passive abilities with the goal to beat the level.

There are 21 Different characters that can be unlocked which each have their own abilities and also 8 different levels to unlock along the way which gives you something to play for and progress.

Levels also drop blueprints and after each run, you can build your base with the money you earned to pretty much make everything stronger. To me, this is one of the aspects of the game that took up way too much time and also made it kind of feel too easy in a way since the power you have going into a level is variable this way instead of giving a fixed difficulty to beat which for everyone is the same. This is one of the things I generally don't like about modern day gaming.

Special balls that have extra abilities als can be leveled up during the game or combined to always make them stronger. Honestly, all these different balls and upgrades I never really had an idea about during my 20+ Hours with the game of which is best or how the upgrades actually worked.

The game was released near the end of 2025 at a price of 14.99€ and I managed to pick it up for 11.99€ which I would say offers good value for the time I got to spend with it as it takes about 20 Hours to unlock and finish all the levels at least once.

Conclusion
Ball x Pit is one of those games which when picking up at first, I layed it down again after playing 1 level only to pick up my steamdeck again a couple minutes later. It was a bit challenging at first and not too difficult to come up with some good strategy. As Characters leveld up, it felt like it was getting a bit too easy though and I missed a real challenge. That said, I still had 20+ Hours of fun with it completing all levels even though I didn't really care about trying most of the new characters. So Ball x Pitt certainly is a fun game for a while but it doesn't fully live up to the potential for me. A Good 7.9/10
Next Up
I still aim to play Outer Wilds as I have a hunch that if I manage to pull trough the first couple of hours (which I failed to do on 2 previous attempts), it might be one of those game experiences that last me a lifetime. I will try to complete that one somewhere in the next 2 months!
