📓 August 2025 Recap & Hive Blog Progress!

This blog acts as a personal journal of all the movies, Tv-Shows, & Games I consume during a year which enhances my overall experience. The ratings that I give are fully based on my personal preference and enjoyment at the time of watching and I'm writing spoiler-free reviews.

Hive Blog August Growth

This was a very slow month when it came down to watching movies as I have been busy with other things. When it comes down to entertainment and screentime, I'm also still very much hooked on the game Balatro which I reviewed already 4 Months Ago (Link). I probably could have watched 5 to 10 Movies more if I swapped my game time for it.

Hive Activity in July

This makes it much harder to keep my blog progress going at a steady pace. The combination of fewer post with also lower post payouts compared and much more expensive prices to lease some hive made my overall Hive Power and the worth of my upvote drop which doesn't help.

It's getting harder to maintain my own upvote value above the 0.02$ Threshold which is where I want to stay above so at least I can upvote the comments that I'm getting on my reviews. I did manage to grow my initial Invested 150HP to 559HP by now which is still pretty ok.

8th Month Hive Progress

The good thing is that I'm still going forward in my Owned Hive Power even though the pace is going down a lot.

While I was not all too active when it came down to making content, I continue to be quite active checking some of the post in the community and engaging with some comments (91). That got me 5 extra people to press the follow button in August and I'm always happy each time I see that number go up.

I still use a https://hive.vote/ auto-upvote list so my voting doesn't go to 100% on days when I'm not around and to hopefully get some support back. However, it's just really hard to find accounts that meet all the requirements as there are limited accounts that almost exclusively make posts about movies and many of them are just cashing out everything they earn. I removed some from the list while adding some others this month. Right now my Auto-Upvotes are going to @netflixr | @takeru255 | @incublus | @okarun | @bighungrypanda | @skiptvads | @slobberchops | @ocdb | @erigm | @bigtakosensei and I'm still looking hard to add some more.

I continue to do most curation manually. While the number currently shows 11.39%, I assume that is more because I simply didn't earn enough to keep some delegations going.

August 2025 Recap

I can be quick on this as I only really watched 3 movies. As I'm planning to go to Asia, I ended up watching The Farewell which I really enjoyed and gave a 8.0/10. I also ended up giving into my curiosity about the movie Weapons which I enjoyed but also could have just watched at home later on as the 17.80€ for a cinema ticket is just ridiculously expensive. Still a 7.8/10 ranking just under some of my favorite horror movies. Finally I watched the new Superman in need for some no-brain entertainment and it reminded me on pretty much everything I generally dislike about Superhero Movies. Still a 6.4/10 as I had an ok time with it.

September 2025 Outlook

I'm not quite sure if I will be able to pick up the pace in the new month and also don't really anything on my immediate watchlist that I want to see. I'm sure though that I will at least have a couple movie nights and maybe I'll get around watching a series or even plan a game.
