A huge storm just hit the US, and it’s knocked more than 110 EH/s of Bitcoin mining power offline.

Arctic weather pushed miners to shut down, mostly to help keep the local power grid stable. With so many miners out, Bitcoin block production has slowed down to about 12 minutes per block. If you’re holding Bitcoin, this doesn’t mean the sky is falling—but it’s a reminder of how much real-world events can shake up the crypto world.
