Oxygen, Balance, and Survival: Why Trees Are Non-Negotiable for Humanity
Today's topic is why trees are so important to us. In human life, everything can be put on hold for a while, but if we don't breathe, how will our lives continue? And trees are so important because they give us the most essential thing that nothing else can provide: oxygen. Oxygen is something that makes our lives incredibly important, and without oxygen, life is simply not possible. We get oxygen from trees, and this oxygen is very important for us. We benefit greatly from the presence of trees, and the environment also remains healthy. The whole system depends on them. If there were no trees, life would become unbalanced because we get oxygen, food, shelter, and everything else from them.

The biggest, first, and most basic role of trees is to provide oxygen. You all know how essential oxygen is for human life. And trees also absorb carbon dioxide. The oxygen we breathe in and the carbon dioxide we release are taken back by the trees. So, in a way, trees act as natural air purifiers. We use air purifiers and masks, but we haven't developed any technology to clean and replenish nature itself. Without trees, the air quality would become so bad that breathing would be difficult, especially in cities where pollution is already very high and has reached alarming levels. Trees play the most important role there because trees give us everything, and without trees, our lives would be absolutely impossible.
Trees are incredibly important for human health and are, in a way, a blessing, especially the opportunity to spend time among them. It provides both mental and physical relaxation because of the fresh air and oxygen they release. This is extremely important. Research has also shown that a green environment reduces stress, anxiety, and depression. A simple walk in a park or sitting in a garden can calm the mind. In today's fast-paced life, all of this is very important because we receive a kind of therapy from nature, which is completely free. It improves mental health without any cost. Trees offer many other benefits as well, such as providing fruits and wood. Think of all the things we get from trees!
The wood we use to build this house today—for the doors, windows, or any other kind of door we make, or for the wardrobes—where does all that wood come from? It must come from somewhere, of course, but we don't think about that But what will happen if one day the trees are all gone? Where will we be, where will we go, and how will we live? We are so focused on building our own homes that we are making the animals, the species, and the people who live in the forests homeless. When a tree is cut down in a forest, it's not just that one tree that is harmed. Many animals suffer because that's their habitat. That's where they live. But we have become very selfish. We only care about ourselves these days, and I think that's a terrible thing.

Trees play a very important role in the colorful tapestry of social life. In a country like India, trees are traditionally worshipped. Trees like the Banyan and Peepal have spiritual importance not only at the ecological level but also in villages, where you can still find community members holding meetings and discussions under banyan trees. Trees have become a very important part of our festivals, rituals, and traditions, which are deeply and emotionally connected to nature. In today's modern lifestyle, no matter how much we depend on technology, it is absolutely impossible to disconnect from nature. Amidst concrete buildings, glass offices, and artificial intelligence, we often forget that nature is the most important thing for us. We might be able to survive without all these things for a while, but how can we live if there is no nature around us?
Lastly, I'd say that everything requires a relationship, whether it's manufacturing goods somewhere or anything else. Everything needs investment because the economy can't function without money. That's also true. But if you're building something in a place with many trees and it's a natural forest reserve, then how does it make sense to build there? Because we should be building in places where there are no trees or plants, because building in such a place makes In places where the land is barren and trees and plants cannot grow, this would benefit both sides. Humans would get new resources, and the trees wouldn't be harmed because if we keep doing things this way, the day will come when we will be left without anything.
