Your Mind Is Your Greatest Eye

Before humans went to the space, a lot of scientists and engineers had imagined it. They imagined the possibility of leaving the earth, landing on another stellar body, then returning back to the earth. This imagination led to years of research, testing, and hard work. It also included some failed attempts. Finally, in 1969, as it was reported, the Apollo 11 crew safely landed on the moon, and Neil Armstrong became the first man to step foot there. Something that began in the mind later found its fulfillment in reality. This goes to show that when your mind creates something, your life can achieve it. This is why you have to see possibilities before they arrive. The way to see it is through the eye of the mind.

Humans typically have two kinds of sight. The first one is the one that comes from the eyes. This is what helps us to see the world around us. But there is a second one; this one comes from the mind. This one is so powerful that it helps us to imagine even the possibilities that do not yet exist. Take the example of the moon landing I cited earlier. Who would have thought that humans would be able to land on the moon? It was almost impossible at that time, but the minds of humans imagined it. When you start to use your mind as your greatest eye, you will begin to create the kind of world you want, and you will shape your future the way you want.

A lot of the successful people that you know were able to achieve greatness because they first pictured it in their mind. They created the success first in their mind before their life achieved it. This is the same way that, before a structure is built, maybe like a house, the architect would have already seen the finish structure in his imagination. Before an athlete even starts a race, he has imagined himself crossing the finish line. Even as a student, before they succeeds, they would have imagined themself in the moment of success. Any good thing that you want to achieve will begin from the mind. Imagination is not an act of daydreaming, rather it is the beginning of an achievement in your life.

When you imagine the kind of future that you want, it will serve as a clear picture of your goal. It is this mental picture that actually gives your life the direction you need. Without vision, there is nothing to keep one on the right course. But when you imagine what you want to achieve, then your decisions, actions, efforts, and choices will begin to fall in line towards it. The mind becomes the compass that keeps you on the right course even when challenges come.

Seeing with the eye of the mind helps you to overcome limitations. You may be in a situation which does not look good; like having limited resources, being from a poor background, facing difficulties in your academics, etc. But if you can imagine and picture the future, it will serve as a source of motivation for you. It will make your mind to refuse to accept the present situation that you are facing as your destination in life. Rather it will condition you and prepare you to look for ways to grow, develop yourself, and achieve your desired goal.

In addition to this, there is a kind of confidence that comes to you when you know what is resident in your mind. For example, if you repeatedly imagine yourself succeeding, the belief you have in your ability will become stronger. This confidence helps you to make bold steps, and to take risks, then continue working even when the journey looks tough. It is actually the mind that prepares you for success long before the world sees it. But you have to know that all these do not just stop at the mind. You have to put action into what you have conceived in your mind. This is only when it will be empowered for actualization. Remember that the opportunities you see in your mind does not actually make you who you are, but the ones you act one.
