What You Ignore Today Can Limit You Tomorrow
I once heard a story sometimes ago, about what my friend told me is happening in his marriage. While he was dating his wife, he noticed a lot of little details about her which should have drawn his attention, but he brushed them aside and gave excuses for her. He kept ignoring the details, maybe because love covered his eyes. By the time he got married to her, his eyes were opened. All the little details he ignored at that time became amplified. In fact, at this moment, his life is in a complete disarray. The things he ignored in the past have changed the course of his life forever. What you ignore today can actually limit you tomorrow.

In life, it is not all the problems that show immediate consequences. There are some issues that look small, subtle, and even very easy to overlook. For the fact that they do not look urgent, makes it easy for people to overlook them. But what a lot of people fail to understand is that what is ignored today can become very big tomorrow. The very small thing you neglect today can become a very big limitation for you tomorrow. Most times, what spoil the vine are not some very big animals, but little pests that are often overlooked, then they will begin to eat the vine inside-out. In the same way in life, one of the things that wreck the most damage is not something massive, but the little things that are often overlooked.
If you ignore a problem, it will not make it to disappear, rather it will just delay the impact. Whether it is a bad habit, a lack of discipline, lack of taking responsibilities, etc, it may look like something small at the initial, but in the long run, it will grow bigger. When you overlook the little issues, you may feel fine in the moment, but over time, the effects will begin to show. What you would have corrected easily will then become very difficult to fix. If you do not fix problem at the onset of it, a time will come when it will become very difficult to be fixed. By that time, you will discover it has compounded.
There are some people that will never take the issues of their health seriously. They will notice a disturbance or a symptom in their body, yet they will keep managing it, and thinking that it is nothing serious. Until they will completely break down, then they will spend more money, stress, and other resources to treat themselves. Similarly in other aspects of life, what you think does not matter might be what will eventually matter so much at the end. This is why you have to "stitch your torn fabrics on time before it becomes completely ruined.

For example, ignoring studying your books today, thinking that you will catch up later, may not seem like a big issue for you at the moment. But as times goes by, the gap will be getting bigger. The topics will become tougher, you will have bigger things to read, pressure will also increase, and this may make your confidence to drop. What started as a small delay will turn out to become a major challenge. This does not only apply to academics but also in other aspects of life. Even the little drops of water that you overlook in a tap, if it continues dropping, will full a bucket that is kept under it.
Your habits are a clear example of how little things become big over time. For example, the habit of procrastination, laziness, poor time management, etc, may seem small and harmless at the first. But when they become repeated over time, they will shape your behaviour and limit your potentials. On the other hand, the small positive habit you observe, like consistency, discipline, learning, etc, can build a very strong foundation for your life, and position you for success in the future. It is worthy to note that what you ignore today in your habits will either help you or hinder you tomorrow. So understand that even what you think does not matter actually matters so much.
