True Beauty Is Inside The Heart, Not In The Mirror

More often than not, a lot of people are only interested in enhancing their physical beauty. But what they fail to understand is that there are things that actually speak louder than physical appearance. Outward beauty may fade with the passage of time, but the beauty on the inside glows and never fades. Your true beauty is not in how you look or how you speak, rather it is how you love, care for, and treat others. Just to let you know; a beautiful soul outshines a fine face. The foundation for true beauty is not built on "makeup, powder, lipsticks, etc," rather it is built on respect, empathy, and care. Showing love to others makes you beautiful in ways that even make-up cannot.

In this era we live in now, it appears like social media filters, physical appearance, fashion trends, etc, have been used to define someone's worth. But the truth that they tend to forget is that true beauty is not resident in the mirror, but in the heart. It is true that the mirror can reflect your face, but what reflects your heart is your character. Of course, it is your character that actually defines who you really are. Someone might appear bright and fine, but when they act, the fineness will just evaporate. But there are also others that may not look so attractive to you at first, but when you relate with them, you will suddenly begin to find them beautiful because of their heart.

A lot of people spend time, energy, and resources trying to perfect their physical appearance. They worry so much about the clothes they wear, the makeup they put on, their hairstyle, their skin tone, and even the way they speak. While there is nothing bad about taking care of your physical appearance, but the problem begins when the physical appearance is placed as a measure of value. Physical appearance may fade with the passage of time, trends may also change, your youthful self will not last forever. But what you should understand is that a kind heart, a compassionate attitude, and a loving spirit will not go out of fashion, and they will remain ever adorable.

True beauty is shown by how you treat people. For example; having patience with someone when they make mistakes, forgiving someone who has offended you in a way, your generosity when you choose to give to someone even when it is inconvenient. Trust me, you cannot buy all these qualities in a cosmetics or makeup shop. These qualities are born from within. No matter how you have paid attention to your outwards appearance, it cannot suffice for inner beauty. There are things beyond what is seen peripherally on the outside.

Have you ever thought about the people you admire in life and why you admire them? Do you admire them because of their looks, or because of the way they treat other people? There is a kind of attractiveness that comes when you treat people rightly. In fact, the people we cherish, most times, are the people who treat people well, listen without judging, help without complaining, and who love unconditionally. There is a kind of comfort that their presence brings, their words also bring encouragement, and their actions can restore hope. These qualities cannot be captured by the mirror, because the mirror does not see through the heart.

People may forget the clothes you wore last month, they may even forgot the kind of makeup you put on when they first met you, but they will hardly forget how you made them feel, and how you treated them. Treat people nicely, not because they deserve it, but because it is the right thing to do. This is the kind of beauty that will outlive the passage of time.
