Small Steps Of The Present, Big Results In The Future
In this era we find ourselves, a lot of people tend to wish for immediate and quick success, but they tend to forget the power that is resident in small, consistent steps. Many people dream for and wish for massive achievements, but they tend to be discouraged if the process becomes slow. What they fail to understand is that great accomplishments are not built on just one moment or on an overnight action but are built over time by constant actions. The small continuous steps you take today will be what will cumulatively lead to a massive achievement in the future.

A few days ago, humans witnessed a major feat, where the Artemis II was launched, and it went around the moon, then came back to earth. This is actually the first time after about 50 years that humans are going around the moon again. However, when you look at the timeline of events, you will notice something. In the year 1969, the Apollo 11 mission was launched to the moon, which was the very first time it was recorded that humans landed on the moon. The mission had 3 crews, including Neil Armstrong, who became the first man to step his feet on moon.
When Neil Armstrong stepped on the moon, he acknowledged that this might be a small steps by a man, but it will definitely become a giant leap for mankind. This gave way for a lot of advancements in the space mission program. After many decades, the world witnessed another history being made as humans went around the moon. The small step that Neil Armstrong and his crew mates took many years ago has led to many other steps, which cumulatively led to giant strides. In life, the small intentional and continuous steps you take in the present are what will produce big results in the future.
In life, every great achievement starts with a decision to begin even though you may be unprepared and you may also be uncertain about the results. Sometimes, you may feel overwhelmed by the size of your dream and may even delay to take actions. However, you have to understand that progress does not require perfection, rather it requires movement. It does not matter how small the step you take is, but what matters is that you have taken it. As a matter of fact, the small step you take will break the barrier of inaction, and will also set your journey in motion.

It is consistency that gives power to your small steps. If you put an empty bucket under a tap that is dripping water, before you know it, the bucket will be full. The first drop may have looked insignificant, but the continuous drops became very significant. In the same way in life, one action may not seem much, but when the actions are repeated over time, they will gain momentum. The momentum will then build confidence, strength, discipline, and clarity. Even the things that seem difficult will eventually become easy when you apply continuous actions to it. One of my mentors once made a statement sometimes ago. He said "the secret to achieving success is not about doing everything at once, but about intentionality and consistency." That is doing it, keep doing it, do not stop doing it, until you get the desired result.
One of the things you should also know about small steps is that they reduce fear. The more you do what fears you, and the more you take actions towards what you are scared of, the more you overcome your fear. Large goals may look intimidating, but when you break them down into small steps and small tasks, they will become less overwhelming. When you take a small task and complete it, it will create a sense of accomplishment within you, and will also make you to have the zeal for more steps. Each step you take, no matter how small it may be, as long as it is in the direction of your dream, will be worthwhile. Remember that the journey of a thousand miles will not be achieved by just one step, but every step is still significant towards arriving at the destination.
