Plant Your Seeds Even If You Will Not Harvest Soon
There are some seeds that you will plant and you will start harvesting after a couple of months, but there are some that would take years for you to harvest. That a seed will take years to mature does not mean you should not plant. It may take a while to harvest, truly, but if you decide not to plant at all, then it will take eternity, because there will be nothing to be harvested. This goes way beyond just the seeds in terms of farming or agriculture, and covers other aspects of the human endeavour. Some steps you take may produce immediate results, while some may take a very long while. However, you should also take those steps even though you know you will not be seeing the results soon.

There was a particular skill I wanted to learn sometimes ago. The duration for learning the skill was pretty long and the money involved in learning it was also significant. All these made me to keep deferring to start. Until one day, I realised that I had actually spent the same number of time without even starting. So I decided to start. It took a while but I finally acquired the skill, and after a very long time, it has become useful to me now. If I had not acquired it then, I would have missed out on the blessedness today. So you see, it may be the seed you sow today that your future will depend on.
A very vital lesson about personal growth that you need to understand is to learn to plant even when you know you might not harvest soon. We live in an era where a lot of people want instant results, quick rewards, and immediate visibility, that they no longer consider long-term in their actions. What they fail to understand is that they should not just live for the present but for the future. Because of the quest for quick results, a lot of people lose motivation when their efforts do not deliver immediately. However, a lot of the great achievements in life come as a result of the cumulative of the efforts of yesteryears.
Being able to plant even when you will not see immediate harvest requires a level of maturity. That is, you are choosing to act responsibly today for a future that you do not even have control of. This kind of planting can cover a whole lot of aspects; like learning a skill which may take years to master, building a good character, investing in good relationships, build good foundations that others will also benefit from, etc. All these may not produce immediate results, but they are never wasted. When you start to reap the fruits, you may have even forgotten the efforts and the hard work you have put into it.

At the heart of planting is hope. When you see a farmer plant tree crops, it is because they have hope that the crops will grow into trees someday even if they take time. They will not panic even if they do not see any immediate growth, because they understand that the growth will first happen under the ground before it manifests outside. This is why you have to have hope - hope in the process, in your purpose, and in time itself. There is no good step you take today, as long as it is in the right direction, that will not produce results in the future.
It is also worthy to note that when you are planting, you should remove competition mentality from you, so that it will not make you desperate for instant results. That someone else is already reaping the fruits of their labour does not mean that you will not reap yours, and it does not mean that you are far behind time. After all, it does not take the same number of time for a maize plant and a cocoa plant to mature. Everyone's season is different from others. You have to understand that you are responsible for your future, but your future is at the mercy of your actions of today.

Very true. Though I keep thinking, nothing is been put to action until now.
What was the skill you desired to acquire ? Anyway, too good you gave a start.
That's right.
Actually, it was beading and designing skill. I'm glad I later learnt it.
Thanks for coming around buddy @shamis
