La expresión guess what" se interpreta comúnmente al español como "¿sabes qué?", "adivina qué" o "¿a que no sabes?" para denotar sorpresa en la nota que se desea dar. La verdad que lo que voy a contar es más bien de susto, ya que este pequeño hijo adoptivo de mi vecina esta enfermo de moquillo. Esta fotografía fue de la semana pasada y que todavía no estaba enfermo. Como saben yo tengo mascotas en casa y en el trabajo y que se enfermen sería muy malo.

Yo no sabía que se había enfermado, que había convulsionado. Mi vecina me pidió el favor de darle unos baldes de agua, porque su bomba fallo y no podía sacar agua de su tanque. Así que vino a casa y estaba llenando unos cuantos baldes. Cuando iba en la mitad del trabajo, le pregunte por su mascota y fue cuando me contó que anoche había convulsionado y tuvo que buscar un servicio veterinario de emergencia. Y el diagnostico moquillo.

Luego se fue y al rato regreso mi sobrina. Al rato fue que me acorde comentarle a mi sobrina que el perro del vecino estaba enfermo de moquillo y que habían venido a buscar agua en el porche. Mi sobrina se volvió como loca y me pregunto donde habían pisado, guardo a los perros y le metió manguera, cloro a todo el porche. Resulta que podrías traer la enfermedad en los zapatos del vecino y enfermar a los nuestros. ya en el grupo de whatssap de la urbanización habían avisado que había un brote de moquillo entre algunos perros del sector.

Ese perrito es muy pequeño para salir, así que seguramente algún adulto o niño llevo el virus a la casa de mi vecina, llevando la enfermedad. Adivina que ahora tengo que salir corriendo a vacunar a mis mascotas.

I didn't know he was sick, that he had had a seizure. My neighbor asked me to give her some buckets of water because her pump had broken down and she couldn't get water from her tank. So she came over and was filling a few buckets. When she was halfway through work, I asked her about her pet, and that's when she told me that he had had a seizure the night before and she had to find an emergency vet. The diagnosis was distemper.

Then she left, and a little while later my niece came back. It was only later that I remembered to tell my niece that the dog... My neighbor was sick with distemper, and they'd come to get water on the porch. My niece went crazy and asked me where they'd stepped. She brought the dogs inside and hosed down the entire porch with bleach. It turns out you could bring the disease on your neighbor's shoes and make ours sick. The neighborhood WhatsApp group had already announced a distemper outbreak among some of the dogs in the area.

That little dog is too small to go outside, so it's likely some adult or child brought the virus to my neighbor's house, spreading the disease. Guess what? Now I have to rush out and get my pets vaccinated.
