I'd say it captures the essence of a small-town person, someone accustomed to living with little, although it could simply be a costume that characterizes a character. When I saw the image, I almost thought of Popeye with his pipe and sailor suit, a tough guy but noble when it comes to helping others.

The well-known story begins in a remote village where fairs and strangers rarely venture. But as the years passed, tourists ventured deeper and deeper, seeking new adventures and places. Fate brought a group of them to Arbist, a very isolated village, searching for new beer flavors. They were all having a great time, but between beers, someone wondered, "Who is the richest man in town?" And everyone pointed to Papa.

Pope was quite a character. He walked all over the village, knew all its inhabitants, and had been one of the first to arrive there, restarting his life of hardship. Everyone told him he had been the richest man on earth, but no one knew his true story; they simply made it up. They called him the richest man because he wouldn't suffer for shelter, nor for someone to provide him with a drink and a hot meal each day. No one knew where his home was, nor from what distant lands he had come. He simply appeared there, and with him, little by little, a few more arrived.

Pope was quite a character. He was always smiling,
with his missing teeth
and his tangled beard,
his sackcloth clothes,
his worn boots;
but he was the richest of them all.

He walked happily wherever he went,
his scent was of tilled earth,
with wild herbs.

He was happy being poor,
he was happy being the richest.

Everyone knew that happiness isn't about having things that make others happy, it's about knowing the freedom to walk everywhere feeling loved.

Yo diría que se ha capturado una imagen de pueblo, una persona acostumbrada a vivir con poco, aunque puede ser un traje simplemente que caracteriza a un personaje. Casi pensé al ver la imagen en popeye con su pipa y traje de marinero, un ser duro pero noble a la hora de ayudar.

La historia por todos conocidas comienza en un apartado pueblo donde la ferias y los extraños apenas llegaban. Pero los años pasan y los turistas se adentran cada vez más buscando nuevas aventuras y lugares. Quiso el destino que un grupo de ellos llego a Arbist (arbitro) un pueblo muy apartado buscando nuevos sabores de cervezas. Todos se divertían mucho, pero entre cerveza y cerveza alguien pregunto ¿quien era el hombre más rico del pueblo? Y todo señalaban a Pope.

Pope era todo un personaje caminaba por todo el pueblo, conocía a todos sus habitantes y había sido de los primeros en llegar allí y reiniciar su vida de tristezas. Todos le decían que había sido el hombre más rico sobre la tierra, pero ninguno conocía su historia real, simplemente se la inventaban. Le decían el hombre más rico porque no sufría por un techo, ni por quien le brindara su bebida y comida caliente en el día. Ninguno sabía donde era su hogar, ni de que tierras lejanas había venido. Simplemente apareció allí y con el poco a poco unos cuantos más.

Siempre estaba sonriente
con su dentadura incompleta
y su barba enmarañada,
sus ropas de sacos,
sus botas desgastadas;
pero era el más rico de todos.

Caminaba feliz por donde andaba,
su olor que dejaba era a tierra trabajada,
con hierbas silvestres.

Era feliz siendo pobre,
era feliz siendo el más rico.

Todos sabían que la felicidad no esta en tener cosas que a otros les hacia felices, era saber que la libertad de andar por todos lados sintiéndose muy querido.
