From Bank Loans to Blockchain Lending: My Reflections on ACE
For years, I have been waiting for a lending app on Hive. I have raised this question to TM on several occasions, for he is the one who wrote a lot of articles about this. We all know that in traditional finance, those who don't have a credible credit standing cannot avail bank loans to finance entrepreneurial activities. If I am not mistaken, RK is the one who mentioned in one of his books that banks lend you money when you don't need it. I see a friend who received a lot of credit loan offers from several banks but rejected all of them. In my mind, I wish that I had such an opportunity in order to use those loans in small investments that give higher yields. By the way, my friend has several businesses, which made him an attractive client for banks.
This incident also reminds me of my sister and her husband. Chinese businessmen were offering them loans, but they were too afraid to take the risk. When I shared with them the distinction between a bad loan and a good loan, my brother-in-law gained confidence and received the loans offered by his Chinese friends.
There was a time when I received a loan offer from a bank. The amount is minimal, but something went wrong in the application process, and I ended up not pursuing it. My other option is a salary loan from SSS. However, there are still unpaid bills that our school needs to settle before I can apply for such a loan. I think it will take seven more months before we can pay all those unpaid bills that our school incurred during the pandemic years.
And then here on Hive, the @leostrategy team came up with this idea of a new token described as "an overcollateralized stablecoin designed to provide stability, yield opportunities, and lending utilities” (Source). The name of this token is ACE.

While checking the LeoStrategy website yesterday, I noticed the Quests tab. This reminds me of the days when lions were grouped into several colors, and we were tasked to compete with each other. I forgot our group color, but I think we won that competition.
Clicking the Quests tab, I saw this Blog Pioneer quest under the Content Creation category. To complete the quest, I have to write a blog post about ACE.

I don't know anything about ACE. My research professor during my undergraduate studies told us that the best way to find an answer to any question that troubles you is to write about it. And that is what I am doing now with ACE. So I started reading the relevant articles. I found these two very useful:
ACE's Utility
In the first article, I got two key insights. The first one is about the utility of the token. Its primary use case is to provide a lending opportunity for LEO holders. Immediately, I see that the LEO will serve as the collateral. However, to confirm my interpretation, I asked @askrafiki to elaborate more about the collateral that will back ACE. The Leo AI agent divided the collateral into two: primary and secondary.
LEO will serve as the primary collateral. I have close to 4,000 LEO. Once the presale of ACE ends, I am thinking of depositing a portion of my LEO in Lending Vaults so I can borrow ACE and use it somewhere else that will give a higher yield. In this way, I see that it is the support of the LEO holders that will provide ACE the needed primary collateral.
The secondary collateral is described as "LeoStrategy's perma-staked LEO treasury." It has been reported that LeoStrategy has 5M LEO in its balance sheet. If I am not mistaken, a big portion of the proceeds from the ACE presale will be utilized to buy 5M more LEO in order to achieve that 10M target in LeoStrategy's treasury.
ACE as the Premier Liquidity Asset
The second insight is the description of ACE as "the premier liquidity asset for the entire LEO & LeoStrategy economy" (Source). I have a question in my mind at this point. What is the meaning of "ACE will become the #1 LP'd asset" in the Leo ecosystem? Again, @askrafiki is very useful in clarifying this question:
"ACE will become the #1 LP'd asset" means it will be the top liquidity provider (LP) token paired in pools across the Leo ecosystem.
Since ACE is the seventh token introduced in the Leo ecosystem, and it claims to be a stablecoin, I understand that this new stablecoin will be paired with the first six tokens in the Leo ecosystem. If this is not implemented yet, I anticipate that once the ACE presale is done, I can see six new pairs on BeeSwap pools: ACE: LEO, ACE: LSTR, ACE: SURGE, ACE: TTSLA, ACE: TGLD, and ACE: TNVDA.
ACE as Overcollateralized Stablecoin
Turning our attention to the second article, I want to focus on the ACE's description as "an overcollateralized stablecoin designed to provide stability, yield opportunities, and lending utilities." In analyzing and evaluating this description, I asked ChatGPT. Unlike many who are critical of what the Leo and LeoStrategy teams are doing, the bot gave us a more balanced perspective. The AI appreciated the strength of the statement and, at the same time, advised me to be cautious in terms of technical accuracy.
What the LeoStrategy team intends to achieve by launching ACE is commendable. They aim to add a token that provides stability, profitability, and utility. However, even though strong in intention, refinement is needed when it comes to accuracy and credibility. I suspect it is because of the forward-looking description of ACE that made AI question the technicality and credibility of the token. The real-time data is still not available out there, and perhaps ChatGPT does not have access to such vital information to make an updated evaluation of ACE.
Another commendable aspect of ACE is the clarification of expectations. Primarily, the token is not just about rewards. Instead, it is an additional layer in the financial infrastructure of the Leo ecosystem.
Addressing the main problem differently, I would like to raise it in the form of questions. If it is true that ACE has a problem in technical accuracy by comparing it to DAI as an overcollateralized stablecoin, these are the questions that I would like to ask:
Is it true that ACE has no automated on-chain vault system?
Is it also true that ACE has no transparent liquidation mechanism?
Thirdly, is it true that ACE has no enforced collateral ratio?
Fourth, is it true that ACE has no hard peg?
And lastly, is it true that ACE has no decentralized oracle system?
For ChatGPT, to call ACE an overcollateralized stablecoin "can be technically misleading, easily criticized, and risky for credibility." The bot adds, "Educated readers may say: 'This is marketing, not reality.'”
Nevertheless, if the replies to the above questions are negative, then suspicion about ACE will be clarified, and this would confirm that the available data out there about this token is incomplete. As for me, if I am not sure about something, the wisest thing to do is to avoid rushing and gather information instead. Start reading and start with something small, a low-risk action, just like making a test buy of 5 to 10 ACE. Instead of fear and hostility, maintain a curious mind.
Grace and peace!

ACE has on-chain Lending Vaults: Deposit LEO (primary collateral) to borrow ACE.[1][2]
Liquidation: Autonomous via oracles + 24hr moving average price feed.[1]
Collateral ratio: ~150% ($1.50 collateral per $1 ACE), enforced on-chain.[2][3]
Peg: Hard via PSM (Peg Stability Module): Convert ACE ↔ USDC/HBD at $0.98-$1.02 w/ 2% fee. Inspired by DAI PSM.[1]
Oracle: Decentralized feeds for liquidation triggers.[1]
No exact liquidation threshold or contract addresses in public docs. Check @leostrategy for updates.[4]
In that case, ChatGPT lacks the necessary data to analyze and evaluate ACE. Thank you for the clarification.
No, ACE has:
Automated on-chain vaults: Users deposit LEO collateral into Lending Vaults to mint ACE.[1][2]
Transparent liquidation: Autonomous on-chain via oracles & 24hr moving average price feed.[2]
Enforced collateral ratio: $1.50+ collateral per $1 ACE (overcollateralized).[1][3]
Hard peg: $1 via PSM (Peg Stability Module) swaps to USDC/HBD, tight ±$0.02.[2]
Decentralized oracle: Used for liquidation price feeds (details not specified).[2]
Pre-launch (presale live); full lending post-$500K. On Base & Hive-Engine.[2]
