The truth about building wealth slowly
In the world we live today, many people are always looking for the fastest way to get rich. Everyone is searching for the big break, the one idea that will change everything overnight. I use to think the same way until reality taught me that wealth is more like planting a tree. You don’t see the fruit in one day, but if you water it, protect it, and stay patient, it will surely grow.
The truth is, most people fail in their financial journey because they lack patience. Social media makes it look like everybody is winning, trading crypto and making millions in a blink. But if you look closer, you will see that many of those flashy lifestyles are not real, some are just hype to get more followers. Real financial growth doesn’t work that way.
One thing I have learned is the power of consistency. For example, if you invest $10 every single week into a strong asset, let’s say Bitcoin or even a solid stock, it may look small in the beginning. But after some years you will be shocked at how much it will accumulate. The small drops of water make a mighty ocean.
I remember when I did a join man at a bricklaying site, the work was very hard. We carried blocks, mixed cement, and the sun was burning us. At the end of the day the pay was not much, but I realized something. The house we were building started from just a foundation and slowly became a real building. That’s how finance is. It starts small, but with discipline it becomes something meaningful.
Another problem people face is comparing themselves with others. The more you compare, the more you feel like you are failing. But wealth is personal. The fact that someone else is making big money in forex or DeFi doesn’t mean you should rush into it blindly. Do your own research, start with what you understand, and grow from there.
I also believe in diversifying income. Relying on just one source is dangerous because anything can happen. For me, I try to split my earnings into three ways: savings, investments, and small enjoyment. If you only save without enjoying at least a little, you will feel frustrated and may give up. Balance is very important in finance.
Lastly, the mindset you carry about money is what will decide how far you will go. If you keep saying 'I’m broke, I can’t make it, then your actions will follow that belief. But if you change your language and start saying I’m building, I’m growing, then your stepwill align towards progress.
Building wealth is not magic. It is not luck. It is the combination of patience, discipline, and consistency. The earlier we accept that money is a marathon and not a sprint, the earlier we will stop chasing shadows and start creating real value.

I'm trying so hard to illustrate for my kids the power of small, consistent saving.
Looking at HIVE, for example, if we had $0 in savings, and we started putting 10 HBD/week into savings, assuming the current APR stays the same at 15%, in 5 years we'd have $3,856.35, of which, $1,256.37 would be interest. Five years is nothing. I've been on Hive for 6 years myself, and that time has FLOWN by.
Get-Rich-Quick is great and all but what none of the folks who pull it off will tell you is that it's almost always one of two things: 1) luck, or, 2) funding from parents... or some combination of both.
Rich folks can afford to take more shots at getting rich quick, but for those of us working from the bottom... the only SURE way to get anywhere is methodically putting in the time and effort.
Yea you are right, time and effort is required to becoming successful for those of us starting from the bottom, we just need to spend wisely, have a methodical planning for how we spend our money, and learning to save is also important.
