Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge

Hi splinter fam,

Welcome to my blog and as I always say, this is gonna be another awesome entry into the splinterlands engagement challenge. A few days ago I made an entry into the social media challenge where I wrote about one of my games. As usual it was a game that I won and I used it to show how one can navigate that type of ruleset cause it can be confusing if you're new to spl.

The number of times I play spl these days is not good. Yesterday I didn't play a single game cause I had my nephews come over and they hijacked my laptop. Yes yes, I can play on my phone but I don't enjoy playing on my mobile phone. I do brawl on my phone though cause I don't really care about watching the games when I brawl. The thing about the mobile UI is that I dont like how the battle screen looks. Everything looks scrambled and its sometimes hard to decipher between your cards and your opponents cards.

So today I will be writing about my favorite combos in the game. I tend to think one can use his or her favorite card combos when all the elements of the game are in play. When I say elements I mean the eart, water etc elements of the cards. There are times where you'd really wish you get to use your favorite card combos but then the rulesets of the game wouldn't even allow it or the even the mana of the game. I like to have a huge mana game as it helps you determine the type of cards you can use. As much as I know I don't like having the reverse speed ruleset as its always a dilemma on which cards I'd have to use for thag particular game. You can go with cards that have an average speed of one but then your opponent comes with cards that have am average speed of 3 and still beat the hell out of you in battle. The miss doesn't work even when he or she attacks with those heavily stacked speed cards and honesty it annoys me all the time lol.

I honestly seem to have a lot of favorite cards combos and as long as new set of cards seem to get introduced into the game very often I seem to jave new set of favorites very often. The thing about how my favorite combo works is that, the summoner I get to pick determine my favorite combo. There are times where I pick a certain summoner and I immediately know the cards I'll use for that battle. There are times where I don't know the cards I'll be using in battle but then the summoner is the most important for me in those times.

I recently received this card on my scholar account and I have spammed it in almost all my games. That summoner is the one and only shen xiao. One of the things that'll make you to instantly like a summoner like this is that its a dragon summoner. This means that you can summoner all other cards from a different elements including cards that won't be available on that particular element you've chosen.

Lucky for me I got to use it in a game where all the elements were available and I didn't hesitate to go for it. I picked the fire element and used it to my liking. The thing about the Sheng Xiao summoner is that it grants 2 of your cards poison burst and corrosive ward. The poison burst means that when it's selected and granted to 2 of your cards it gets to apply poison to attacker and has 50% chance of applying poison to units that are adjacent to the attacker.

The corrosive ward effect means that it applies -2 to attacker's amor and maximum amount when hit by a melee attack.

So when you want to use this summoner make sure you apply it's abilities to card which can be defeated in battle easily and put those cards where they can be affected. Don't pick camouflaged cards and then apply the poison burst ability to it.
