Hi guys,

Welcome to my blog for an entry into the splinterlands battle mage secrets contest. In case you don’t know what the battle mage contest is all about, let me fill you in.

The battle mage contest is a contest where you are presented with a particular rule set to write a post on. Here, you write from a battle you have had where you used that Ruleset.

So what is this Ruleset for the week. The Ruleset for this week is:

Shades Of Gray: Only neutral units may be used in battle.

So let’s get into the battle.

I’ll be sincere, I don’t like the Ruleset cause it limits my options in battle. I don’t remember the last time I won a battle with such a Ruleset. What I mean to say is that I suck at this.

Basically with this Ruleset your summoner chose is what makes the difference. The other ruleset was monsters loose all abilities which in all sense I didn’t like.

The first step to loosing this battle is as cause I didn’t like the Ruleset so that’s that.

My summoner of choice was posibulus the wise. It’s a summoner that has 6 mana, grants your cards +2 health, the reach ability and also the trample ability. The reason why I went in for this summoner was cause it grants me the reach ability.

My first card was Arkemis the bear. A 12 mana card with 4 melee attack, 4 speed and 12 health.

Next in line was legionnaire alvar. A 9 mana card with 3 melee attack, 2 speed, 9 shield and 7 health.

Next card was venari spell smith, a card with 4 mana, 2 magic attack, 3 speed and 4 health.

Next was spirit hoarder, a 3 mana card with 2 magic attack, 1 speed and 3 health.

Last card was supply runner, a 6 mana card with 3 range attack, 5 speed and 5 health.

In this game the abilities of my card didn’t matter cause it was a monsters loose all abilities match.

Let’s rumble.

Round one started with the normal buffs and debuffs from summoners. Spectacular he also came with the same summoner so it wasn’t all that bad. It so happened that round one went badly for me as my first position card with killer easily. He had strong range cards which helped him do the job easily.

It didn’t go unnoticed by my legionnaire as he was bent on taking revenge for that death. He was able to vanquish my enemies first card and perform the trample on his second card. At this stage I had hope cause I thought I could win. But it all come down when my legionnaire which has so much shield was killed as well in round 2.

Up came my magic card which has little health so I knew just one attack from my opponent was gonna kill it.

But even before that I liked his powerful melee card. But then just as I feared I card was killed in round 3. It turned into a game of kill one I kill one back as it was happening like that till round 3.

In round 4 it wasn’t meant to be as my last magic card was killed. Up came my last card which so happened to be a range card so it was just there. In round 5 and 6 he performed all of the attack and killed my card. He won the game.

For me, I think what made me loose was my lack in so much health and lack of speed as well. These were the defining factors to my opponent winning this game.
