A walk through Hurghada and an unforgettable dance with dolphins

In the morning I went for a walk in Hurghada. I left the hotel and headed towards the main street. On both sides there are shops, restaurants and small souvenir stalls. I walked slowly and watched the people. Tourists were bargaining with the sellers, and locals were offering various products. In several places I saw stalls with spices and teas, and there were also shops with clothes and bags.When I arrived at the dolphinarium, I first toured the area. There were pools where dolphins stayed. The guides explained the rules and told us how to behave in the water. They told us that we must not pull the dolphins, that everything is under the supervision of the trainer and that we should listen to the instructions.Before we entered the pool, they gave us life jackets. Trainers with dolphins were already standing next to the pool. The dolphins came out of the water and made the movements that were shown to them. First we had a short viewing program, and then we were invited to enter the water.When I entered the pool, the water was pleasant. The dolphin immediately approached the trainer, and then slowly swam to me. The coach told me to pat him on the back. The feeling was unusual because the dolphin's skin is not smooth as I expected, but firm and elastic. After that, the dolphin made a circle and came back again.Then they led us in pairs. A dolphin was swimming next to us, and the trainer was signaling us to hold on to his fins. So I could ride a few meters through the water while he was swimming. It was a memorable moment, because I was in direct contact with the animal. After that, they let us stand in the water, and the dolphins approached and made different movements.



After swimming, I continue my stroll through the city.I went into a little shop to see what they had. The seller immediately approached me and started talking about the goods. He asked me where I was from and then offered to try some hibiscus tea. I sat down for a moment, drank some tea and continued on. The street led to the marina so I decided to go there. On the way to the marina, I saw a fish market and several local restaurants preparing fish on an open grill.









There were many ships and yachts at the marina. Tourists stood there and looked at the offers for excursions.I spent the rest of the day on the beach because I didn't have time to sail the boat. I left that for another day






Walking through Hurghada and swimming with dolphins in the pool remained in my memory as an experience that is not repeated often. I saw the city up close, got to know the way of life of the local people and spent part of the day with animals that many people only know from television. When I returned to the hotel, I was tired, but I knew that I had made the most of the day.
