When My Fingers Betrayed Me, but 5 Minutes Saved the Day!
Tonight I was sitting in front of my laptop, intending to write something productive. I had to meet my target to write every day on HIVE. and it turned out that I missed it last week. But suddenly, somehow, I ended up scrolling through social media for half an hour straight. When I realized it, I immediately thought, "Hey, what's going on?" Since when did my fingers have permission to scroll without my knowledge? I felt betrayed by my own hands and also by my eyes.
Suddenly I remembered that this wasn't the first time this had happened. Every time I intended to write, there were always distractions. Sometimes I was suddenly hungry, sometimes I suddenly thought about tidying up the table (even though I usually don't care about the mess), or worst of all, I suddenly felt the need for in-depth research on the lives of gossip celebrities that were going viral, even though it wasn't important for my writing.

But this time, I decided to fight back! I remembered the 5-Minute Law which is said to be able to shift people from laziness to productivity. So I told myself, "Come on, just write for five minutes, if you're not in the mood, you can stop." And sure enough, once I started typing, I didn't want to stop. The "just writing but writing" effect is real!
The funny thing is, after five minutes, I became curious, "What will happen in the next paragraph?" Like someone who has started eating chocolate, how can they stop the first bite? Suddenly 10 minutes have passed and I have written almost half the article. Plus editing, it took 15 minutes to make this article.
So, if today I managed to overcome my laziness to write with just this simple trick, maybe tomorrow I can conquer something else. Like... waking up earlier? Eh, we'll see. Because I'm writing this almost midnight in my country.

The important thing is, today I managed to write something without having to feel guilty anymore because I suddenly landed on unimportant gossip in my country.
