Motivational Mondays | Are We Truly Suffering? Or Is It Just Our Perspective?
Hello, community! This is my first time joining this theme. I hope it serves as motivation for you all.
Have you ever noticed that fish love water, but who would have thought water would eventually be the place they are boiled? Or that humans love the earth, but it ends up being their final resting place? Or maybe you love someone deeply, only to be hurt because they disappointed you. Ironic, isn’t it? Or perhaps we’re missing something here.
But think about this: water isn’t to blame. It’s not the water that boils the fish but the fire. The earth isn’t at fault; it’s death that brings humans to their graves. And love? Love is never the villain. What truly hurts us are our ego, expectations, and misplaced hopes.
Now, let’s take a moment to pause and look at life from a different perspective.
The Problem Isn’t the Situation, It’s the Perspective
Have you ever felt like you were suffering for no apparent reason? As if life is conspiring to make everything go wrong? Maybe, just maybe, it’s not the world that’s the problem. Perhaps it’s how you’re choosing to see it.
We all wear “glasses” that shape how we see the world. Some people wear glasses tinted with gratitude, allowing them to find beauty even in hardship. Others wear lenses clouded by pain and trauma, making everything seem bleak.
Maybe your life isn’t as bad as it seems. Perhaps it’s your glasses that need to be changed.
Is Happiness Really That Difficult?
Look around you. There are people who laugh even when they don’t have much. People who are thankful even when life is tough. How do they manage it? Do they live without problems? Of course not. They’ve simply chosen to focus on what brings them joy.
Now, what about you? Are you so busy comparing your life to others that you’ve forgotten to appreciate your own blessings? Do you think others are always happier, more successful, or luckier than you? If so, stop for a moment. Maybe you’ve been so preoccupied with looking outward that you’ve overlooked the goodness within your own life.
Everyone Has Their Own Timeline
Each person walks their own path at their own pace. Not everyone has to arrive at the same destination at the same time. So why do you feel left behind?
Think about a child crying over a lost toy. To them, it feels like the end of the world. But as adults, we know life is much bigger than a toy. Similarly, the problems you think are breaking you right now might just be a small chapter in a much larger, beautiful story.
Rewrite Your Life’s Narrative
Here’s the twist: life is a story we write ourselves. You can choose to be the victim in your story, or you can be the hero who rises above every challenge.
If fish could choose, they might swim farther from the fire. If humans could choose, they might cherish their time more before the earth becomes their resting place. And if you could choose—and you can—you might stop blaming love, circumstances, or others, and instead take responsibility for your own happiness.
In the End…
Life will never be perfectly smooth. But with a small twist in perspective, you can start to see the beauty that exists everywhere. So why keep wearing the glasses that make everything seem dark?
Maybe this reflection will help you see happiness from a new perspective, one that embraces acceptance and gratitude for what is.
The choice is yours. Will you continue to feel like a victim of life, or will you begin to enjoy this journey? Because happiness, as simple and as complex as it is, is a decision only you can make. 💫
