Climbing to Diamond III: The Struggles, Wins, and Card Loots

Greetings, Splinterlands warriors!
Im back with the latest progress update amid the sluggish crypto market. But wait, there’s a glimmer of hope! It looks like HIVE's price cycle is starting to rise again. And right in the middle of this moment, my progress this season has also become more exciting.

After holding my ground in Gold I for quite some time, I finally broke through to Diamond III. However, the journey in Gold I was tougher than ever. My opponents had increasingly powerful card collections, making the competition even more intense. Even so, my own collection has also improved, especially with the growing number of reward cards I’ve accumulated. Unfortunately, a new challenge emerged—the new rental policy that sets a minimum price of 1 DEC per card.

This policy had a noticeable impact on my strategy. Some of the cards I usually rented became more expensive, forcing me to be more selective in building my team. But I wasn’t alone. My opponents seemed to face the same issue, and I could feel that their team strength wasn’t as formidable as before. Thanks to this, I managed to reach Diamond III and secured reward chests from this tier upgrade.

Opening those chests gave me decent rewards. I managed to get several rare cards, though no epic or legendary ones appeared. Still, I felt my luck was within the usual range. Aside from cards, I also received a good amount of MERIT points—enough to purchase a Gladius pack.

The most exciting moment for me was opening the Gladius pack in the guild market. Unfortunately, the results were pretty much the same as my reward chests—no epic or legendary cards. But even so, every card from this pack will be valuable for leveling up my Gladiator cards. So, while I didn’t get my dream cards, I’m still satisfied with my progress.

Competing in Diamond league is indeed a real challenge. One of the biggest hurdles is collecting Glint. Back when I was in Bronze or Silver, earning Glint felt much faster. But in Diamond, Glint collection requires a more calculated strategy. I might need to adjust my approach for the next season. Dropping down a tier could be an option worth considering at the end of the season.

So, that’s my progress in chasing card rewards in Splinterlands. How’s your progress going? I hope it's getting better and filled with good fortune! See you on the battlefield!
