Postcards from the Lenin neighborhood, Camagüey / Monomad Challenge

Official entry for the #monomad challenge organized by @monochromes and @brumest.

Hello dear Black and White community, today I'm sharing some photos I took during my recent visit to the city of Camagüey. When I talk about Camagüey, people expect pictures of colonial houses, cobblestone streets, and churches, but the truth is that while all of that represents Camagüey, life, time, and architecture after the triumph of the Revolution have taken their toll. This first photo was taken next to a store in the Lenin neighborhood. It has graffiti, something you often see here.

In this second photograph, simple and which could be in any other place, I took it while taking the other photographs because I had never seen a plane fly so close to that neighborhood.

This last photograph shows what is essentially a primary school...located next to a busy road, which is why it's so fenced in. It's the perfect blend of urban development and nature.

When I took these photos, I thought...that black and white would better capture their essence. In this country, everything seems to be frozen in time, and it gives off that feeling a bit too.

When you take photos of your surroundings, you have to look at everything around you with kindness and intention, and capture the best possible version of it. That's what I tried to do. I hope these images are well-received, and I'd love to hear what you think. I'm also open to suggestions and criticism.

Photos are my own

This photo is very good; it demonstrates a remarkable ability to utilize elements found in the streets and "create" something new from what is observed. I enjoyed seeing this! 👍
