◈ Olio di Balena

Ciao, amici italiani!🇮🇹🤍🇨🇺

Come state?

It is interesting to read how much influence the economic benefit of Hive has on people in lower income areas. I'm sorry to hear that you suffer from a current depression on the value of Hive. If you take a look at the value of the coin, you will see (which you probably know better than me), that the price has been in decline for a long time now. How do you make money with Hive? Well, you sell your income in Hive that others are willing to buy - it's a relation of supply and demand. Currently, quite obviously, supply (people wanting to sell Hive) is relatively growing, while demand (people wanting to buy Hive) is relatively declining.
Your question has been how you can get a bigger share of the cake, how you can attract more upvotes. @stefano.massari gave an appropriate answer, that you need to show enough engagement in the community. This is probably true – you need to give more people the chance to find your account while simultaneously giving them the chance to upvote a lot of your content. So posting your own posts should be something you do almost daily (but not more than once a day, because this often seems like you only want to grab money). Here, you also have to keep in mind: Engage with people that engage with you. If someone comments on your post, comment back, so they feel seem. Humans are social creatures and if they feel seen and welcome, they feel comfortable and like to come back. And there should be a balance of effort. If someone sends you a short reply, give a short reply back, or reply nothing. If someone takes their time to reply to you with a lot of thoughts, detail and love, do the same!

But this is the side that mainly focuses on your interests as an individual. There is another side to it, which is the community side of things. People with less struggle in their lives have to think of ideas to keep Hive up. How do we get the afore mentioned "demand"-side up? There are two ways, really:

  1. Incentivizing users to buy up more Hive from the market, which is something that is done by, for example, the Hive Power Up Day (HPUD) initiative, where users power up some of their Hive once a month.
  2. Getting businesses money to Hive through sponsorships or ads, whereof the thus earned money gets (partially or fully) invested into Hive.

I personally think that the second option is a more realistic one in the long run, as few users will be willing to invest part of their money into something that might seem to some like a "dead horse". It is a globally difficult time, where few people have the chance to "bet".
But as I mentioned: This is something that must be left to the people on Hive with more mental (and financial) capacity, to get up with ideas and actually get them up and running. And yes, this would also be something that is done in some sort of solidarity. Solidarity with our class comrades to find solutions to fight for a livable life for all of us.
Viva la solidaridad!
