The Monstrous Hangover

“Yeah, it’s another Friday!” she exclaimed. “E go choke,” she said in Pidgin with excitement. She picked up her phone and called her girls, urging them to get ready for the night’s adventure. She gingered aàthem up, telling them to be at the club by 8 PM so they’d have time to drink and smoke before their male friends arrived to kick off the real party.

The night came and they gathered. The music and the lights fitted the atmosphere.Out of excitement, she drank herself into stupor. Her friends noticed and tried to slow her down, gently telling her to stop. But she flared up, resisting, and nearly fought one of them who tried to take her glass away. Since she was not listening, they let her be.

But before the guys arrived, things got out of hand. She began to say senseless things, her movements was unsteady. She laughing at invisible things. Then, without warning, she threw up and messed up the place where they sat.
Thankfully, one of the guys walked in just then. Seeing her condition, they rushed her into the car and drove her home. She could not continue with the party any more.

The next morning, she woke up in her room with a pounding headache was so weak. The last thing she remembered was getting ready for the club. Everything else was a blur. Her head felt like it had been cracked open, she only managed to reach for her phone and called one of her friends.
“Babe, how did I get home?” she asked, her friend sighed on the other end, “Girl, you were a mess. You threw up, and was so intoxicated before the real party even started. We had to carry you like a baby.”

She groaned and dropped the phone, burying her face in her hands, she said “This hangover is monstrous.”
