THE MOST MEMORABLE EVENT OF MY LIFE

It is usual for humans to want to be remembered after their death, so they try to do things that will be of a remembrance to them. Some will leave their marks in the hearts of others, making incredible impacts in their lives by a show of unexpected love. A good example was Jesus, who is remembered today after over 2000 years for what He passed on, and today, He is being remembered for the sacrificed he did for us.

In my family home, there has always been a portrait of my grandfather hanging in the sitting room. My dad has four brothers, and the same portrait, or a duplicate, is hung in each of their houses. It is the most valuable item that the five of them hold mutually important. When dad talks about grandpa, he talks about him as if he were a worshipped legend. He left his homeland just like Abraham to search for a new home, and when he found this new home, he settled there and made this new found land a loving home for his family. Whenever Dad talks about grandpa, he speaks of him with so much respect, as if he were trying to teach us gratitude and lay a legacy that will live on in our bloodline forever.

Another thing we keep very precious is our grandfather's name; we all bear our grandfather's name in the family, making us look like a very big family. My grandfather was the first settler in our community, the community and it was named after him, making his name more valuable not only to us as a family but also to us as a community at large. In the sacred love and value of this name, it was programmed that we come together at the end of every year to feast and celebrate together in love.

There are a lot of things that are so valuable to me in the past, I could remember when I was in primary school, I woke up one morning with a strong desire to own a bicycle, and I had an urge to pray and ask God for provision, it never occurred to me to ask my father to buy a bicycle for me, because I never believe or had confidence that my father could really buy something for me just because I want it, or because it will please me to have it, growing up, I understood that my father had passion for our education and anything that relates to education or our health, he was always there and that was as far as he went. All I could do was to bend to my knees in prayer, asking that God would provide me a bicycle on that same day, through my dad, which I never had in mind that God would use to provide for me.

That evening, as we were playing street football on our street, I looked up and saw my father coming home with a new bicycle. Normally, my father would not come home early. We only saw him sometimes very early in the morning. But this time, I saw my dad coming home with a bicycle. I was so happy that I rushed to welcome him, and I was the first to greet him with so much joy. He said the bicycle was mine. He had been passing by and saw it, and just like that, he had a conviction to buy it for me. It was not ours, but specifically mine.

This was the fastest I have seen God answer my prayers, and it made me cherish this present to this day. I used to feel like I was the least loved child among four children, but that day I felt like I was the most loved by God among my siblings. I knew it was only God who had provided this bicycle for me by answering my prayers that morning. It was as if God suspended every other request and stuck to my request, which made me so pleased with God that He showed me mercy and love by giving me my very desire. I still have this bicycle parked in my family's house because it signifies a lot of things to me. I have told the story about this bicycle several times to people as evidence that God answers prayers and as evidence of my faith. That bicycle changed my life in many ways. I have a lot of memories of the bicycle; it was the peak of my childhood, as I was the only child amongst my friends who had a bicycle, and it increased the value of their friendship towards me.

My Name is @rishagamo, and this is my entry.

You're very lucky my friend, that it's something that not everyone could live, sadly.

What a wonderful experience you shared with us. A child's faith is the purest there is. I can imagine the immense joy you felt when you received the bicycle.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us.

Excellent Thursday.

This stirs my spirit, we don't need to look unto men but to God when we need a provision.

God knows fully how to supply our needs according to his riches in glory, we don't need to be concerned about where it will come from, sometimes God might make it happen in the way we least expected.
