SOWING SKILLS, HARVESTING SELF-RELIANCE

Charity basically refers to any act of generosity or helpfulness offered to someone in need. Charity supersedes giving in terms of money; it can take many forms, such as sponsoring another's education, either formally or informally. If I decide to teach someone a skill or trade for free, so long as I do so with the intention of helping the other person, the act is considered charitable.
The true essence of charity is the intentional gift of value to improve someone else's life. Having to share knowledge with someone or teach someone a trade is a higher form of charity than when money is offered to the needy, as it provides a tool for self-reliance. Even though financial help may solve an immediate need, a skill may create a long-term solution. You must have the saying " it is better to teach a man to fish rather than to give him fish".
Teaching a person a trade or how to make money will not only serve as an empowerment to the person, but it will also have a ripple effect on the person's family, as well as serving as empowerment to many others, since he will eventually employ the services of others and also teach others the trade.
The good thing about money when we look at it is that money answers most things, the need of many or most can be solved typically by the availability of money, true, a needy person will likely want to be offered money in other to meet the immediate need, but while we are trying to be helpful to others, we most understand that sometimes a lasting solution is better than solving the immediate need, leaving the individual to be at your beck and core the next time they are in need. So in offering an immediate solution, one if they can should proffer a lasting solution.
Everyone has something to give, regardless of their bank balance. Whether it's a lesson in carpentry, coding, or even just literacy, that investment of time is often seen as more valuable than offering money to the needy person sometimes. Everyone needs to learn the act of being charitable and put effort into doing charity every day of their lives. Charity to me is a lifestyle and not just an act. It makes the whole a better place to have people who will be charitable with their living.

It is better to teach a person how to fish, than giving them fish all the time.
I think that is the best way to practice charity in this our world.
