What will be the future of Ragnarok Monster World?

On April 23, the Ragmon development team, 0x&, made a series of posts on medium and in-game talking about season 4, updates, among others. One of these posts called “ROMW on CROSS Onboarding Guideline” reveals some information that is starting to worry the community a little. This post says that Ragmon's multi-chain will be completely different. The Ragmon ecosystem that will run on CROSS will be completely separate, with its own progression, tokenomics, and leaderboard.

The model is so different that in CROSS, players will need to pay for a battle pass to enable the xZeny token, which is a different token from Ronin's eZeny, and there is no exchange between them. Another point is that in Ronin, NFTs were sold, with some very rare ones, such as Genesis Tamers and high-rarity Ragmons, which will not be used in this new game, which means that those who dedicated time and money to the original game will not have any benefit. In addition to this issue of CROSS having a “different” multi-chain, there was news about the TGE of the $ZENY token, in which the team says that the TGE will happen on Ronin, but without a confirmed date, which generates even more uncertainty. The reason for the delay was also presented, being a lack of financial resources to generate the initial liquidity. Their idea to achieve this is to use future revenue from Ragmon to set up a validator on Ronin and create liquidity to earn fees, but they also give the option to put 100% in Liquidity.

Overall, it seems like there is a lot of uncertainty about how this multi-chain will work. If the game is not working on Ronin, which has a large community, will it work on CROSS, which does not have a community? How did Ragmon's partnership with the Ronin network turn out?

Next, on April 27th, the other ronin co-founder of Psycheout makes a long post with several new details on the subject. The first is that due to a breach of trust between Ragmon and Sky Mavis by signing an alleged secret agreement, they would be ending their partnership with 0x&, the developer that has the license to make the game with Ragnarok products. With that, after 48 hours, the game's products would be removed from the Ronin Market, making the NFTs unavailable for trading there.

He also goes on to say that even though the token launch is possible now that the network is open, Sky Mavis would not support the Token's TGE. Soon after, he makes an update saying that they listened to the community's feedback and that instead of completely removing Ragmon's assets from the Ronin marketplace, they will remove the checkmark. However, if you go there to search for the game, it was not possible to find the general Ragnarok Monster World collection, which aggregates the NFT, material and genesis collections, making it difficult for users to find the NFTs.

É sempre bom acompanhar o contexto para entender o que pode acontecer no futuro. No dia 23 de abril a equipe de desenvolvedores do Ragmon, 0x&, fez uma série de posts no medium e no jogo falando sobre a season 4, atualizações, entre outros. Um desses posts chamados “ROMW on CROSS Onboarding Guideline” revela algumas informações que começam a deixa a comunidade um pouco preocupada. Nesse post é dito que o multi-chain do Ragmon será completamente diferente. O ecossistema do Ragmon que rodará na CROSS vai ser totalmente separado com sua própria progressão, tokenomic e leaderboard.

O modelo é tão diferente que no CROSS os jogadores vão precisar pagar um passe de batalha para habilitar o ganho do token xZeny, que por sinal é um token diferente do eZeny da Ronin, não havendo troca entre deles. Além dessa questão da CROSS que vai ter um multi-chain “diferente”, teve tem novidades sobre o TGE do token $ZENY, em que o time fala que o TGE vai acontecer na Ronin, mas sem uma data confirmada, o que gera ainda mais incerteza. O motivo para a demora também foi apresentado, sendo falta de recursos financeiros para gerar a liquidez inicial. A ideia deles para conseguir isso é usar a receita futura do ragmon para setar um validador na ronin e fazer liquidez para ganhar taxas, mas também dão a opção de colocar 100% em Liquidez.

No geral, parece que há uma grande incerteza sobre como vai funcionar esse multi-chain, se o jogo não tá dando certo na ronin que tem uma comunidade grande, será que vai dar certo na CROSS que não tem uma comunidade? Com o fim da Season 3, os jogadores receberão as suas recompensas de Ranking de fim de season no token eZeny e provalmente uma boa parte deles acabou vendendo pressionando o valor do token e junto dos acontecimentos recentes, a queda no token de recompensa $RUPI foi muito expressiva, caindo mais de 3x desde a season passada. Para piorar todo o cenário que já não vinha bom com os posts feitos pelo time, tem os comentários dos fundadores da Ronin Jihoz e Psycheout. Começa com o comentário do Jihoz em uma resposta de uma pessoa em um post sobre o Fishing Frenzy, no dia 26 de Abril, dando opiniões bem fortes sobre o Ragmon, o comparando à um clone ruim do Clash Royale e que agora estão indo para outra rede por dinheiro e finaliza dizendo para focarem em um outro jogo do Ragnarok.

Em seguida, no dia 27 de Abril, o outro co-fundador da ronin Psycheout faz um outro post longo com diversos detalhes novos ao assunto. O primeiro é que devido à uma quebra de confiança do Ragmon com a Sky Mavis por assinar um suposto acordo secreto eles estariam encerrando sua parceria com a 0x&, desenvolvedora que tem a licença de fazer o jogo com os produtos do Ragnarok. Com isso, após 48 horas os produtos do jogo seriam removidos do Ronin Market, ficando os NFTs indisponíveis para negociação por lá.

Ainda, ele continua, dizendo que por mais que o lançamento do token seja possível agora que a rede está aberta, que a Sky Mavis não apoiaria o TGE do Token. Logo depois, ele faz um update dizendo que escutaram o feedback da comunidade e que ao em vez de remover completamente os ativos do Ragmon do marketplace da ronin vão remover o checkmark. Entretanto, se você vai lá procurar pelo jogo, não foi possível encontrar a coleção geral do Ragnarok Monster World, que agrega as coleções de NFTs, materiais e genesis, dificultando os usuários à encontrarem os nfts.

Isso deixa o jogo em uma situação muito pior afinal, os fundadores da Ronin deixaram claro que não vão mais apoiar o jogo de nenhuma forma, e sem o apoio das principais personalidades de dentro da Ronin tudo ficará ainda mais difícil. Em resposta à situação o Ragmon faz o seu post de resposta dizendo que não houve acordo secreto e que eles comunicaram abertamente com representantes da Sky Mavis suas discussões com outras redes. Ainda, sobre o TGE apontaram que as discussões para o TGE ser feito fora da Ronin foram iniciados pela Sky Mavis.
