Weekend Engagement - The Law Of Attraction

Why will 2026 be a better year than 2025 for you personally? Explain.

Optimism.

Perhaps some people might think it's a fluffy reason, but I think having a positive mindset is so important.

Growing up in my younger years, I was generally more pessimistic than optimistic. I believed it was a way of protecting myself from disappointment. Well it did achieve that to some extent, but it also created a sense of negativity within myself and at times, it also ate into my self confidence. It's never wrong to prepare for the worst, but when these thoughts become excessive, I realised I was overthinking and over-worrying too much. Gradually it affected my enthusiasm towards life, my diet, my sleep, and the list went on.

I think it was until about 9 years ago when I met a friend, who shared with me this thinking of the Law Of Attraction.

There are many similar terminologies that people use these days, one term is the self fulfilling prophecy, and the new generation has a new term for this, which is manifesting I think. Literally, it just means you tend to attract what you want or believe into your life, which it affects your brain and mindset subconsciously, and this influences all your decisions 24/7, sometimes without you even noticing it.

I used to think.. XXX is so difficult, I can't do it.. YYY is too ambitious a goal, no way I could reach it.. But learning about the Law Of Attraction made me decide to try and have a different mindset. How about taking a leap of faith and believe in myself for once, and tell myself "I can do it"?

The magical thing is, it doesn't cost anything or require any physical effort, to just flip the switch in my mind.

It's been close to 9 years since I flipped the switch and I would say life has definitely been better! Sure, life has its ups and downs, and I had my fair share of unhappy days, sleepless nights (much lesser though), etc but each time, having a positive outlook in life and knowing that we as humans will always get through the tough times (like we always do) has made me a happier person overall.

In the past, I might worry about a million things that might or might not happen in the future, but these days, I stopped worrying. As long as I have done my preparations and everything I could, I would leave it to life to pan it out. If things go well, that's great. If things don't go so well, it's fine, we review and improve from our mistakes. There's no need to blame myself or anyone, or to let any negative emotions affect the other aspects of my life. And over time, I realised I have built up my mental resilience bit by bit, day by day, and these days life has been much "lighter" and my mind is preoccupied with positive thoughts of feeling grateful, feeling thankful.

I am not some psychologist or therapist, but if you are struggling at some stage of your life currently, how about trying to flip the switch in your mind, to have a positive mindset, to envision the outcome you wanted and perhaps, you will be able to attract some of these things or the resources that you need to overcome the challenges!

Ending off with a dessert photo because there's always room for desserts, especially on weekends! This is actually Thai Milk Tea ice cream with blended ice beneath, alongside with cream, milk and toppings. It's definitely way too much for 1 person (and too much sugar as well), so I had to grab a friend to share it with me! Hehe!

Happy 2026!

I think you really put it correctly. Optimism will allow us to adopt a positive posture.
