Australia - Admiring The Sydney Opera House

IMG_6210.JPG

Hello there!

Having completed my earlier travel posts on several interesting countries and regions, including Japan, Maldives, Indonesia, US, Europe and the latest one being New Zealand, it's time to fly over to Australia!

Australia is a country that I have been to twice in my life. The first time was to Sydney in 2009, and the second time was to Melbourne in 2011. And I realised that's 14 years since I was last there! Anyway, time to relive those moments as I share the sights and sounds of my experience!

Here are the posts so far:
Australia - The Amazing Views At Sydney Harbour Bridge

We continue our Sydney tour, and after the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge in the very first post of this series, we headed to the next icon in Sydney, and that's the Sydney Opera House!

On the way to the Sydney Opera House, there's no escaping from the sight of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, as they are all located in close proximity of each other. There's an al fresco bar, but I realised it's very challenging for the diners because there are always seagulls and birds waiting to eat the food if one is not paying attention.

Cruises come to Sydney too!

And finally after a short walk from the main road, we were able to see the Sydney Opera House and take in the sight in full. As you could see the photo, it was very crowded because it was the must-see tourist attraction. I always see it in photos and it's always a different feeling to see the actual architecture.

We moved forward to take a closer look, and since we were already here, we actually explored around the building to take a closer look and snapped some close up photos! What was interesting to me was that the Sydney Opera House actually looked different depending on which angle you were taking the photo, every side had a totally different look and curve, as you can see in the photos below.

Beside the Sydney Opera House, if my memory serves me right, it's their Botanical Gardens. Due to time constraint, we didn't have time to explore though. So that's what we were to able to see from the entrance. Hehe.

As you could see from the earlier photos, the Sydney Opera House stood at the edge, and beyond the building would be the waters. So naturally we could also see some landing points and observe some ferries and cruises moving across every now and then.

I didn't spend a long time in Sydney city itself because I had to watch my budget when I was younger and the living costs in Sydney were not cheap at all. But seeing both the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House was good enough for me! Of course, Sydney has a lot more to offer, including beyond the city itself, so that's what I will be sharing next!

And that's all I have today! Have you been to Sydney or Australia? Let me know in the comments below!

Finally, thanks for reading my post in the community under World Map Pin!
