Honor's first humanoid robot

At the 2026 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, a company decided to attract attention in a very different way. Chinese manufacturer Honor took the stage and presented its first humanoid robot. And the demonstration was anything but discreet. The robot entered the stage along with human dancers and performed a complete choreography to the rhythm of Imagine Dragons.

During the presentation, the machine performed synchronized movements with the performers, including a perfect MoonWalk and the famous step immortalized by Michael Jackson, but the moment that really impressed the audience came at the end, the robot executed a completely controlled backflip, drawing applause from the audience before shaking the hand of Honor CEO James Lee.

Despite the impact of the presentation, company one disclosed technical details of the robot, nor information about price, availability, but the demonstration is part of a larger company plan. Honor revealed that it intends to expand its operations beyond smartphones and build a complete ecosystem of smart devices with built-in artificial intelligence.

This project is part of the so-called Alpha Plan, a strategy that combines three pillars, Alpha Phone, a new concept of device capable of physically interacting with the environment, Alpha Store, a platform where different smart devices will be able to connect, share information and research in new hardware technologies, including advanced batteries, new materials and robotics.

According to the company, the idea is to create what they call a carbon silicon civilization, a future where machines, devices and artificial intelligence work together as a single system. In short, Honor wants to take artificial intelligence beyond screens, transforming software into physical machines that interact with the real world.

If this vision really materializes, presentations like the one at the Mobile World Congress may be just the beginning, because robots that appear on stage today to impress the public could tomorrow be walking, working and living together in our daily lives.
