China's EngineAI officially announced the creation of a global combat league between humanoid robots and the prize for the winning team is huge, about 1.4 million dollars, the competition was named URK, but there is a curious detail, although the name suggests intense battles, the rules are strictly non-violent, no blades, no spinning, no explosions, no destroying the opponent, instead, the real battlefield will be the software that controls the robots.

All participating teams will use the same standardized humanoid robot model called TH00, measuring about 1.73 cm in height. It weighs approximately 75 kg and will serve as a common platform for competitors, this means that the dispute will not be decided by who built the strongest robots, but by who developed the best control, balance and movement algorithms.

During the fights, the robos will have to demonstrate skills such as stability, body coordination, quick response to unpredictable situations, it will be a great test of artificial intelligence applied to humanoid movement, in addition to the main prize, the competition also offers rewards for other teams and there is a curious additional incentive. The teams that make it to the top 16 will be able to keep the robot used in the competition and the eight finalists gain direct access to job interviews on EngineAI itself.

Registration is now open and runs until April 30 with the global final scheduled to be held between December 2026 and January 2027. At its core, this league is not just a competition, it is a smart way to accelerate the development of robotics, transforming a complex technical challenge into a true world championship in artificial intelligence.
