When Water Turns Into Poison — The Silent Crisis We Are Ignoring
Today's topic is about the water we used to drink, the water we considered essential for life, which is slowly turning into poison. Recently, there was an incident in Indore where everyone who drank water from the nearby river, considered sacred like the Ganges, either contracted typhoid or died a dangerous death, or faced other serious health problems. Do you know why this happened? The local authorities, for monetary gain, gave permission to a factory that is releasing highly toxic chemical waste. If even a small amount of this waste enters a person's body, death is almost certain. And this factory is openly dumping its waste into the river. People are drawing water from this same river, drinking it unfiltered, and consequently, they are indirectly dying.

Water pollution has increased significantly due to agriculture, and there are many factors and reasons for this. Farmers use a lot of pesticides and chemicals to protect their crops, so that people don't face problems with their produce and their crops don't get damaged. In the process, they don't realize how much they are polluting the water, and they are also harming the soil with excessive fertilizers. This chemical contaminates sweaters. It also greatly affects aquatic animals, such as fish and other marine creatures that live in this polluted water. It causes them many problems, such as accumulating large amounts of plastic inside their bodies. When humans consume these fish or other aquatic animals, all these harmful substances indirectly enter their own bodies. No one has ever paid attention to this.
What should we do to stop all this? First and foremost, education and awareness are crucial. We need to explain to people that if we pollute the water, that pollution will cause environmental problems and ultimately affect us humans. We may not understand it today, but 10 or 12 years from now, we will realize how big a mistake we made by polluting the water. We will gradually understand all this. Therefore, it is very important to include environmental education in schools and colleges and to explain why it is essential to protect and strengthen the environment. Campaigns should be run on social media. Strict action should be taken against those who litter and pollute wherever garbage is found. By doing all this, our society will gradually understand, and we will learn to stay away from water pollution.

Water is a priceless commodity; it's a gift we receive from nature. If we keep wasting it, a day will come when we will be desperate for water. In the past, if someone said that we would have to buy water in the future, everyone would laugh, but today that has become a reality. Nowadays, we have to buy good quality water to drink. Companies like Bisleri sell a liter for 20-25 rupees, so imagine, in the old days, if someone said we would have to buy water, people would laugh because no one believed it. But today, we have to buy that same water. Therefore, a time may come when we will have to buy water at even higher prices. So, if we are not careful about our water resources today, the future will be very bleak for us. That's why, whenever I meet people, even outside, I tell them that water is life, and if there is water, there is a future.
Lastly, I'll just say that Venus and a little bit of teaching will teach us everything and tell us how we can save water from being polluted. If a factory releases waste, they should create their own artificial pond where the waste can be released, which would benefit them as well. If you see a natural lake, you can create an artificial lake next to it, because it's something you've created. But if you pollute a natural lake, people will still come there, and how much harm will that cause? It will be bad for their health and for the environment. So never release waste into these things; instead, find solutions that benefit everyone and are good for everyone.
