Staring Ourselves Blind: The Hidden Cost of Excessive Screen Time

In today's digital age, we spend more than half our days staring at screens. When we're working, we're looking at our laptops, desktops, or if we're not working, we're looking at our phone screens. We're watching reels, and when we get home, we watch TV. Now, we even watch smart devices. If you look carefully, we spend more time than ideally spent on screens throughout the day. No matter how hard we try, our day remains incomplete without our phones and laptops. So the more you look at screens, the more problems you'll have. You'll have a headache. You'll have a lot of problems. So, regarding all these things, we used to think that the less we could look, the better.

Our eyes are very sensitive and are not designed to withstand such bright light. They are also not designed to look at artificial light and digital screens for hours. In earlier times, people used to do mostly natural light and auto-like activities. They used to read books and stay away from all these things as much as possible. In today's time, screens have become everything. From morning till evening till night, we spend the entire day studying on screens or doing internet work. We do entertainment and communication. Everything happens on the screen and the eyes get so much stress that they never get any rest.

The biggest problem with too much screen time is that it will start watering. You will start crying. When we watch a long scene continuously on our phone, laptop or any other computer, we give a blank work card. Normally we do blank work 15 to 20 times. But if we are looking at something on our phone or something else, our brain remains focused on that to a great extent, so we do blank work, which will cause a lot of problems for us. This causes dryness in the eyes and we will also face difficulty in seeing. If we do this for a long time, then our vision will also become difficult. We will feel irritation. Many people consider this normal. But this is a big problem and it can also damage the eyes and it starts even at a very early stage.

I was surprised when I saw small children of two or four years old staring at their phones all day long. So you can assume that this is a small child whose brain is still developing and hasn't fully developed yet. If he sees such a full screen, what will happen to his eyes and brain? But the eyes and brain of small children are in a very developing mode. Because they don't have the right to be exposed to so much screen light. Staring at a screen can cause serious eye damage. That hasn't started for children yet. Therefore, limit your exposure to as much work as possible, as looking at phones can eventually damage children's eyesight and cause many other problems for adults.

Sitting in front of phones and screens at night is especially harmful because the room becomes dark around us. The brightness is almost gone. Looking at screens then puts a lot of strain on our eyes, leading to problems like head and body and light sensitivity. Blue light also creates excessive brightness in our eyes, which disrupts our sleep cycle. You'll understand why you're not getting proper sleep. You might be staring at your phone or laptop for too long, causing severe eye pain. When you don't get proper sleep, your eyes don't even recover from proper repair, and the damage only gets worse. This is why your eyes feel heavy and tired when you wake up in the morning, and you constantly itch them, and you'll notice that they turn red.

If you keep watching videos for many days and hours, you'll notice your vision gradually diminishing. Meaning, if you used to see clearly before, you can't anymore because the closer you look at your phone or screen, the more blur it will cause, and the more problems you'll have. Therefore, I believe you should look as little as possible, or you should buy a Google screen protector from Google, which will minimize the blur and protect your eyes. This is the most important thing. All our parents look at screens a lot. It causes a lot of problems. That's why it doesn't harm us. It also gives us symptoms that our eyes are getting damaged, but we never take it seriously, and watching videos causes a lot of problems.
