Historical Railway station of Jhumra, Faisalabad π
Hello everyone!
Today I'm sharing my tour to Jhumra tehsil of Faisalabad, Pakistan. It was my first experience to go there. During vacations after mid term exams , I managed to go to my friend Umer who lives there at Jhumra. I spent two days there. One day I went to the Railway station of Jhumra. I'm gonna share with you the small history of jhumra Railway station as well.
Chak Jhumra Junction is a railway station located in the city of Faisalabad, in the province of Punjab, Pakistan. The station is an important transportation hub for the city, serving as a major junction for the Lahore-Karachi and Lahore-Peshawar railway lines.
Chak Jhumra Junction was established in the late 19th century and has undergone several renovations and upgrades over the years. It now features multiple platforms, a large waiting area, and several facilities for passengers, including a ticket office, restrooms, and a food court.
In addition to serving as a transportation hub, Chak Jhumra Junction is also a major source of employment for the local community. The station provides jobs for a variety of workers, including ticket sellers, food vendors, and maintenance staff.
The station is surrounded by a bustling market area, offering a range of goods and services to travelers and residents alike. The area is known for its traditional crafts and textiles, as well as its delicious street food.
Despite its historical significance and ongoing importance, Chak Jhumra Junction still faces several challenges. The station and its surroundings have suffered from neglect and disrepair in recent years, and efforts are underway to revitalize the area and improve the experience for travelers.
I heard this history from some people and also the guard at the station. As we went there at 12 PM. We clicked many pictures. By chance a train was crossing and it was my first time to see a train and experience it live. I have never been to the railway station so , it was really an enchanting moment for me.
We clicked many pictures there. There was a canteen as well, we bought some refreshments there. Sitting on the station bench and observing the whole vintage place for me was really an amazing experience. I spent at least two hours there and enjoyed it a lot.
For a person who loves such places a mixture of history and the modern touch is a blessing. As the building was from 19th century old and the canteen was kinda modern and full of modern things like cold drinks, snacks, Candies, and juices.
Jhumra railway station makes me felt like a place of belonging and I indulged myself into thoughts that when and how did that made. And the pictures we always see during a partition of subcontinent. The way people migrated on railways during that time. I was into these thoughts. And then the train bell ringed and hear again i felt something the nostalgia of our childhood and that was the Bollywood vibes. The poetic vibes the vintage vibes. Everything was symbolically represented something. In short, that was worth it. Hope you guys enjoyed it.
See you next ποΈ.
