RE: 10 years ago today, mainstream media claimed that in ten years, people will be grateful to Merkel for opening the borders of Germany and Austria for an unprecedented wave of refugees. Well, that did not pass the test of time.

This is a very thoughtful reflection. Ten years is a long time, and it’s clear that the situation hasn’t gone the way many people hoped. I agree that good integration and understanding the difference between asylum and migration are very important. It’s also true that history plays a role in how things turn out.
